Degrafted, stock is now spotting

A few days ago I degrafted my trich from it's pereskiopsis stock. I left about 1 1/4" in hopes that it will throw off more pups. Today when I came home from work I found these spots. I've got it in the shade and been trying to keep it as dry as possible. Mold was my first thought, but I'm new to cactus so I wanted more opinions.

it's normal for callousing cacti to get a few mildew spots here or there. don't sweat it. just keep an eye on it and make sure the surface continues to harden. check back in another week and if anything is mushy and rotten, then you have a problem. right now it looks normal.
its probably just from an over-humid environment. looks like it might be outside, did it rain recently? the soil looks a bit saturated too.

If the spots doesn't spread and plant gives resistance when you give pressure with fingers it's okay and will offshoot.
Trichos can have these black spots on calloused surface or at skin..
I remember I have got one callous with similar small spots but it wasn't anything and plants lives on.
Every cacti have somekind of own immune system and I have seen even trichos to survive from minor base rot by removing it from soil and let it be without water, sometimes I can see old spot where has been rot and it has not spread.
If you see there is starting to grow more black spots, or they grow larger or plant goes to soft, then you have some sort of fungi/mold problem..
Callous looks fine at the picture.

Thanks for the input! It did rain recently, and it is outside but it's under roof so it doesn't get wet. If it will throw off pups that would be sweet. My plan is to let it callous a few weeks then fertilize it.
