No Pins After First Flush??

Here goes..
BRF cakes /half pint Modified SGFC (2 air pumps w/ a stones under perlite) No hygrometer (cant find a calabratable one.. the others suck) Room temp at about 75°F **** basic fluro light 2700k/14watts/900lumens
I mist 1-2 times a day (water doesnt seem to evaporate off the surface of the cakes) and fan 4-5 times a day. I can get a "decent" first flush but once I dunk, roll, and replace in the FC my cakes will just sit for days on end. Also no obvious signs of contam..
is my light which is 2700k the problem since it isnt 6500k???
Why? Bombard me with advice please.

Brf cakes: Good Modified SGFC: How is it "modified", or is it just a box with 2 air stones? No Hygrometer: No problem. A properly setup fruiting chamber does not REQUIRE monitoring. Fruits/mycelium can tell you more than the hygrometer. Room Temp: If you are comfortable, than the mushrooms are too.
Lack of evaporation from the cakes should be a dead giveaway. Evaporation is a main pinning trigger, and judging from your description there is serious lack of FAE. Have you attempted to make a SGFC per specs, because I would seriously recommend getting away from the pumps, as it sounds they are not giving enough FAE. MOLD LOVES STALE AIR.

It is a perfect example of how to do something better, and experience great results. Good luck!

Wow so many things... is your perlite hydrated? Why the airstones? Is it an actual sgfc? Or just your adaption? How long did you dunk after first flush? And how long have you waited between flushes? Where are you fruiting? In a room or closet are there fans? Etc...

That was my next question. I didnt have a place where I could set it out and elevate it so I left the bottom 2 inches without holes and put the pumps in, hoping theyd provide enough FAE from the bottom up through the perlite as if it were a basic SGFC.
My perlite is extremely hydrated.
Ive waited about a week and a half between flushes.
And the SGFC is on top of a bunkbed which is why I couldnt elevate it. Maybe I can find a way.

This was your real mistake. SGFCs work because outbound air exits the holes on the exposed five sides, drawing in fresh, relatively oxygen-rich air through the damp perlite, humidifying it. Without this, your "intake" holes are blocked, and there is relatively little air exchange through the perlite.
You have far too little FAE and humidity as a result of your modifications. Drill holes in the bottom as is standard, and elevate it some.

Building the full SGFC asap. Elevated and all.
Should I take out the two air stones and/or is there any negative effects to leaving them in. Theyre just buried under so much wet perlite. Sorta a mess. But I definitely will do if needed.
Also just picked up some 6500K fluros =)
