Where are you located? This will help in the ID.
I think they are best dried in the oven on low temps with the door slightly open. Gives off a pleasant smell.

Dude, honestly...
Have a look at the first of my pictures above, and tell me again that A. muscaria don't have ridges. Specifically look at the mushrooms on the right of the picture.

Ridges? It has concentric rings on the bulb that can look like ridges, that's one of the defining characteristics.

Drying for the amanita - remove stem Wipe down cap and gills with damp paper towel Scrape gills out (optional, heard it cut down on the unwanted effects) Place on paper towel outside during the day and bring it in at night (because of the dew) Or I've heard of people hanging them upside down outside by the stem to dry. Then you're good to go once its cracker dry. You should be able to break the cap like a cracker when its dry enough.

Just depends on the sun, the mushroom... I've heard up to two days when they are big?? Just make sure to clean them well. My last haul, I was in a rush when I got home and didn't clean them well enough... I came out to check on them in the morning just to find tiny little white worm/maggot type animals in the gills! Feasting it up on my persicinas!! Horrible...haven't found one since. Someone is telling me to pay attention son!!

Drying makes them nasty. Cut them up, sautee them in butter and store them in a tupperware in the freezer. They'll taste good and last a long time that way. I don't particularly like the trip, but when I do use a. muscaria, I always just cook them up fresh in some butter and spices. They're actually delicious if you treat them like an edible mushroom and eat them in a meal.

I've also heard they are VERY good when treated like an edible. My method of drying is for powdering the mushroom. I do want to try cooking it though.
