I know we've moved on from talking about cities, but I'm on a bus driving past Newark as I type this and, no offense Gumby, but this place is a total shithole.

At night, in the rain, this must look like some kind of Blade Runner-esque dystopian nightmare.

Yeah that pic you took was the oil refinery in Linden, that ain't Newark. And yeah, it does like some post apocalyptic city.

Heard of it but I've never checked it out. Is it good?

Here's Hamilton's beautiful skyline (TO in background):

That's too bad, you'd think the publicity from the show might have given them a boost in business. Always cool seeing places you recognize on TV, I get that sometimes with shows and movies shot around Toronto.

Yeah, I would think the same thing. I read that the owner died or something and they don't have plans of reopening. Apparently their website says they're still open. Hrm. I'm confused.

I've driven over the skyway many times. I consider Hamilton to be Canada's Newark. Sorry, Gumby.

The Wire wasn't the type of show that going to attract your family tourist dollar to the city. It was about the street drug trade in the city's housing projects.
