Four Weeks and still not at 100% and other updates

Hey all:
My four week mark was Friday. My jars are still not at 100%. It seems like growth has slowed down and I hoping I didn't get a stall. Also, it looks like maybe one jar started pinning?!?
I'm using the floating tubs method or TiT I think its called? I have a constant temp of 82 but recently with all the growth its pushed the temp to 84 or above, yes I know it's in the contam zone. Could the increased temp the reason things have slowed down?
I am doing my best to keep temp around 80-82. Attached are six images. I have a total of 12 jars and they all look about the same so I only uploaded pics a few pics. The first one is my favorite jar (but only has life on that side of the jar). The next two are one jar just two sides. Same goes for the next two pictures. The final one is the "pinning" or growth.

Something's definitely going on. I'm not very experienced so I can't say for sure what that is. You should try using the fat and short 1/2 pint jars. They colonize much faster and aren't prone to stalling out like the tall ones usually do.

Looks like alot of moisture in those jars. There could be some sort of bacterial contam, but that is just a guess

Can you take a pic of the lids? I want to see what kind of gas exchange is going on there, do you have a dry verm barrier on top?

I see
Ok, so you realize that the dry verm barrier traps the evil spores that find their way in through the ge holes right? See those pictures you posted? You are tilting the jars, causing the verm barrier to shift, causing the spores to roll down into the brf where they take off and stall your mushroom myc. I did this on my first grow. Solution? lids with sfd is what I did. I'd think about doing quart jars and forgetting pftek cakes too.

+1
Try to keep your cakes upright until 100% colonised if you're using a dry verm layer. SFDs are not essential provided you follow this. Also, as suggested, used 1/2 for your next attempt if you can because they colonise in half the time leaving less time for contams to take hold

Right, I knew about the dry verm. So are you saying these could be shot? Theres no apparent growth other than bright white myc.

That jar does not look normal. It is already pinning yet it is not fully colonized. Normally cubensis will only pin in a jar if it is fully colonised. The mycelium thinks there is no more food, goes into sexual reproductive mode, and tries to produce mushrooms. Your problem could be that you did not mix the brf and verm very well or it could be that you have a bacterial infection.
On the brighter side, congrats, You at least got one mushroom from that jar.

tips that helped me were ...
Maybe you packed your substrate too tight??? also too much moisture can lead to stringy mycelium which is in pics 2,3,5,6 ..2:1:1 substrate
and yea switch to the wider 1/2 pints they colonize much beta as they don't have as far to travel

They don't look good for four weeks, I mean, has the myc been growing for 4 weeks or is that 4 weeks from inoculation? <- I don't know how to speel that werd.

Open one up and smell it. Its probably bacterial contamination.

I just took my second to last cake out of 24 and added it to my chamber. It took from 7/10/13 to 9/1/13 to get 100%. Some jars will finish early and after they are done consolidating they will pin in vitro.

I agree with changing the jars the plastic ziploc 1/2 pint containers work perfect and are cheap. The other thing is I would just let them colonize on a shelf at room temp ive always had a higher comtam rate when I incubate and faster colonization at room temps.

Okay, I'm going to try and consolidate my questions here. First, I inocculated on on 8/3. I didn't see myc start for a out 8 days, so I guess technically its been a bit less than four weeks. What SHOULD they smell like? How can you tell if its baterial? The only thing I see is the stringy myc and in some of the other jars the myc is much thicker and fuller. Next time I'll use the smaller jars. From what I have read though anytbing that goes wrong with a cake will cause it to NOT produce, ie, these seem to be okay still. No blacks, no greens, no nothing. There is a smell but I assumed myc probably isn't sentless and the tub is filled with water that has been in there for a minth lol.

Specific question to you sir. Did you use the big jars like me? I bought everything pre-made so my options were a bit limited. If you had larger jars like I did then maybe I'm not that bad off. You began on 7/10 I started on 8/3 so technically I might still be on schedule.
