Really strong smelling mushrooms

This might be a silly question but I just want to be sure that my mushrooms are still ok to consume.
So I picked a few about 2 days ago and have been letting them dry out in the open for that duration, during which I've tried finding some silica gel but couldnt during that time. So last night I finally found some, I put a layer of the silica gel in a tubberwear container, then some paper towel and then some mushrooms, closed the lid and left it over night. Then next morning I check on them and the smaller mushrooms have this really strong smell to them and actually seem like they are more fresher then before, they are spongy.
They don't smell bad, just a really strong mushroomy smell to them. So today I picked up a food dehydrator and put them in there and they seem to be drying a lot more, almost completly as I type this but still they smell pretty strong. Should I be concerned? My first thoughts are no, but I just wanted to make sure and check with you guys.

You are supposed to use the silica after the dehydrator to get them to cracker dry and keep them there. Silica wont absorb the amount of water the freshies hold

Weird right?
I did have a fan blowing on them during those two days, but not the entire time. Probably for like 6 hours during the whole two days only when I'm home.

Ahh I see. For the record it's silica gel I'm using but It's a kitty litter brand, only kind I could find
I just checked on them in the dehydrator they still smell strong but are getting dryer, you guys think I should be concerned with them at all?
