Is this a normal rate of contamination?
    #18789490 - 09/02/13 12:16 PM (10 years, 4 months ago)

Hey guys,
I started my first grow and impregnated 52 BRF 1/2 pint jars. None of them became contaminated while the mycelium was growing inside the jar, but after I birthed them and they produced flush #1 (dunked again) then put them back in the FC 2 became contaminated with green mold before they produced flush #2. After flush #2 I dunked them all again and put them back in the FC and this time 5 fell to green mold. Is that normal or is that a high rate of contamination? Should I bleach my perlite or something? Keep in mind this is out of a 52 jar grow.

I would boil the perlite before using it anymore.

But that's just me.

You could also bake it in the oven @ 350F for like 30-60 minutes.....

But is that a normal rate of contamination or am I doing something wrong?
