Someone charged my credit card
    #18789329 - 09/02/13 11:37 AM (10 years, 5 months ago)

Someone just maxed out my card.....how the fuck does the bank let this happen? I'm OBVIOUSLY not a state over and I don't ever even come close to maxing it. Some dude bought a TV and a camera and a whole bunch of other shit. Fucking asshole I'd kill him if I could.

Already called and canceled my card and got my money back but what the fuck...

Credit card fraud ever happen to you? Fucking irritating. Makes me not want to get a credit card again.

I use it for emergencies, some months I don't even use it, others I use like $100 tops. So the fact that the bank doesn't notice this suspicious activity ALONG with the fact its not MY address and its OUT OF STATE just pisses me off that they would even ship it to him.

I canceled my card, and I am thinking its just more trouble than its worth.

So, beyond the surprise and inconvenience no big whup, right?

Check your statement every week or so and nothing too bad can happen, it would seem.

Having a credit card can help you build credit for borrowing money for a sensible investment.

The real risk is when your identity is stolen and the thief opens new credit cards in your name w/o you even knowing it. It might be too late before you even realize it's happened and the ordeal fucks up your credit for decades to come.

credit cards are really good tools, just gotta keep an eye on them and the charges

when i was younger my wallet was stolen while i was in shithole Tempe Arizona. Fucks got my social security card, ran up my credit cards, maxed me out for everything. Identity thieves have to be some of the lowest forms of life on the planet. Ive had a wallet stolen/ransacked 3 times in my life. Now I just carry an id and credit card solo in my backpocket, havent had any issues with thieves since.

I've heard people say that before, but why would it work that way? Shouldn't the credit bureaus have to correct the error?

See but the problem is now I'm paranoid and I RARELY use my card, so its kinda dumb for me to have to keep watch over it. That should be the bank's fraud department responsibility to look out for suspicious charges and to pend them until confirmed.

I dunno... This made me take a step back and really rethink this whole credit shit.

well yeah if you never use your card anyways, i dunno, keep it locked up in a safe, and not stored on any sites, or just cut it up if you feel that strongly.

I use my credit card for 99% of my transactions. It builds up miles for free flights/cruises, and builds up my credit score. Seems win win. If i dont see it in my pocket at the end of the day, i call my bank and cancel the card #.

true to an extent. I pay my charges off ahead of time. Every paycheck, first thing i do is hit up my bank and wipe out my credit. Ive paid $4 in interest this year on my card, and that was because i got drunk in vegas and pulled out money. Ive earned about $300 worth of miles on my card by using it so much.

They don't? You got your money back.

This is the price you pay for convenience. If you want a background check, fingerprinting, drug test and 3 day wait everytime you pay with a CC then what's the point?

Srsly if people are illegally charging shit to your cards more often than not I think it's your fault, keep that shit private yo
