Spawning monotub.

Hey there guys, I´m about to spawn a monotub for the first time and I got 1 jar with BRF that I'll use for spawning, my question is. How long should I wait with the BRF jar before I spawn it? it's pretty stringy at the moment but I don't think it's 100% colonized, should I let it colonize completely and wait 1 week to let it consolidate or should I spawn it as soon as it´s done?
Thanks in advance.

I think you'll need more than one BRF jar for a monotub. You could make a tray, I guess.
BRF only need consolidation if used for PF tek. If you're planning on crumbling the cake, you can do it when the jar is fully colonized.

How big is the mono tub? Either way there's no way that its enough with on brf jar. It will take forever to colonize and you will most likely get contams before then. The idea is to have a 1:1 to at least 1:4 ratio of spawn to substrate. This way it can quickly colonized and not get contaminated.
If I were you I would use the substrate calculater and figure out what gives you at least a 1:4 spawn ratio. Find a aluminum baking pan and spawn to that. Put it in your mono as a fruiting chamber with perlite and fruit like that.

I'll be using horse manure on a pretty small tub, id guess its about 20x15 cm.
But isn't horse manure pretty contamination resistant? I figured if I spawn it and seal it until it's colonized I shouldn't have that much problem with contams.

If my math was right your gonna need 2.5 quarts of spawn for a 1:4 ratio at 2 inch depth. I'm on my phone so I can't give u a better suggestion as of now... I can later though. You still are way off through. You should seriously just fruit the cake or go with the baking tin like I said.
You need to pasturize your manure... or any substrate for the most part. If not given the fact you all ready have such little spawn its will get over taken by contaims.
