black chunks in caps, is something eating my shrooms? Partial abort? (pics added)

Pics will come in an hour after my camera charges but basically I found areas of my caps today that looked like they had been eaten away. The areas that looked eaten were black colored. The rest of the shroom looks fine but if I didn't know any better I would say something is taking a bite out of them.
Can cubensis have partial-aborts where only certain areas of the shroom abort?
It definitely seems like the areas within the black perimeters are gone and not just 'aborted'
Again, pics soon.

Pictures
What's going on here and are they safe to eat after they dry out? These began forming mostly on cakes that had fahtsters style reservoirs in them so I thought maybe they were abortion from over saturation but it just looks different than what I've seen in other pictures... Thanks as always.

Does that mean they aren't safe to eat?

Probably not. I've eaten some mushrooms with black spots on them. The trip was amazingly memorable but the headache afterwards was not worth the experience.

Yes they will be completely fine to eat if you dry them.

Roger that.
Should I throw the cakes away? Does this kind of contamination begin at the cake level or is it superficial particular to the fruits it comes in contact with?
It's weird because these shrooms come from cakes on opposite sides of the SGFC.

I just had the same exact thing happen to me, and was also curious what caused it. Do thanks for posting this. I left a couple shrooms with the black spots, and in about 24hr they were reduced to a black puddle

Pretty sure it has to do with them not getting FAE.. dry them and they will be perfectly fine to eat. I wouldnt do it personally, but it probably wouldnt hurt anybody fresh either. Dont throw your cakes away... loosen your polyfill or add more holes to your tub or terarium w.e. Almost postitive this is caused from moisture sitting on your caps and fruits to long

How often and much are you spraying them?

Its caused by the caps sitting wet in stale air. Be sure to fan your cakes after you mist them not before, and be sure that the caps are completely dry from the last misting before you mist them again.
