I have waited up to three days with success, but only with coir and verm and gypsum. I would not wait more than 24 hours if you have any coffee/manure/castings or anything else in your substrate

You just mean using the PC as a pot to pasteurize in, right? I've had leftover pasteurized coir that I left sitting in the jar for a week with no ill effect. Not sure what you're using for your sub though.

Pasteurization does not kill everything .. we want some of the beneficial organisms to survive etc ...
Pasteurization gives you a nice head-start in a race for full colonization ... you've got a good solid 7 to 14 days to get your bulk substrate 100% colonized ... then your culture controls the territory and it is difficult for competitors to make head-way. so strive for full colonization in 7 days.
Every day you delay spawning to your pasteurized bulk substrate, is a day closer to a danger period when competitors are present and able to compete.
does that make sense?
who knows how long it can last.? better to use it sooner. fact.
good luck MAN

The answer all boils down to.. it depends. on the sub ingredients, on the procedures. I have left sub for a week.. with success. with two weeks.. with success. My sub was left in a cool area. If sub is left in a hot area.. gone in prob 2 days.
Never tried but im sure you can put sub in the fridge to last longer.
