Today on the south coast of oregon

We had a bit of rain, was hopeful that I'd find something photo worthy, but hardly. Southern Oregon coast barely above sea level.
LBM in weed lawn. I've seen lotsa these in recent id posts but can't recall... The cap appears quite viscid in the first two shots, but it didn't seem to be, particularly. Tried to sporeprint on foil, nada. The cap was about .25" in diameter.

Spotted slug gnoshin' on some bunny poo. I think this is the first time I've seen a big spotty one - he was about 4" long.

Amanita lookalike... Another one I think has been posted up lately... I have this in the frig and will maybe take some more pics tomorrow.

Small puffball, about 3/4" in diameter. Also in frig, perhaps will dissect tomorrow.

Looked like prime chanty and lobster hab - it's just not wet enough here yet. Gar.

"The initial quake was a 6.6 but fairly shallow. I felt it as a prolonged up and down vibration followed by a jolt forward and then to the left, like square dancing."

Your Amanita appears to be Amanita augusta, its fairly common to find the caps washed out, brown on top yellow around the edge..
But isnt that a Russula for the bottom picture of the Amanita? it doesnt look like the same species.

I'm pretty sure it was the same... There was the one in good shape and a few in tatters, decapitated with caps upside down. I don't know if someone was thru there before me or the critters are responsible. I flipped the ragged caps over and they were all the amanita. Could be my pic is substandard.
Thanks for the A. augusta id - thought this was something else since it didn't seem to have much of a bulb.

The last pic looks very russula like to me. Assuming the last picture in the set doesnt belong im fairly certain the Amanita is A. augusta. Its one I find all the time up here.
Heres a few of my finds that are similar you can compare yours to

I have had these confirmed by Rod E. Tullos as Amanita augusta with washed out caps.
This is what they normally look like

Since then i have seen them in many stages in between. It seems fairly common.

I used to pick liberty caps on the south oregon coast 20 years ago. lived in crescent city. traditionally everybody was shrooming by halloween, so I think it's a little early even with your early rain
But I'll be watching cause this year I would like to take a short vacation on the north coast and hunt around
it's worth it to see it even if you don't find much...beautiful area

I think your #1 could be Mycena sp.

I think the persicina is prettier than the augusta. ;-) Always love the peachy tones on anything, they're pretty stunning on a shroom.
Mykoweb sez of the augusta "Evidence is increasing that this is an edible species."
But I think I'll hold off on that.

I can't really argue with that...something about seeing that bright peach/yellow cap in all the thick brown pine needles but I dunno...I just love that green...maybe just because I have never seen one in person...either way, beautiful amanita!!
