Had a decent hunt today. Things we came across were hedgehogs, chanterelles, chicken of the woods, a few boletes, pig's ears. Here's a few pics...
This tower of Laetiporus sulphureus was about 6 feet long. A snag about 30 yards away had a similar formation just not as long.

This is not the usual variety of hydnum repandum we find here. The smaller var. umbilicatum is what we really covet but they are only just popping up. Still not cold enough for them!

First time I've see Gomphus clavatus in these grounds.

keep up the good work people

Went up to Mt. Hood yesterday. The forest was awash with Asian folk hunting Matsutake! I only found one, and neglected to take a photo… Lots of other interesting things, though:
Inocybe

Ramaria

Entoloma

Clavulina-type thingy

Yellowfoot Chanterelle, Craterellus tubaeformis

Hawk's Wings, Sarcodon imbricatum (my friend found one of these that was about a foot across!)

Stropharia rugoso-annulata from my backyard

Phaeocollybia californica
 Agaricus subrutilescens
 a pretty red Ramaria
 Gomphus floccosus
Boletus mirabilis (confirmation would be good) got a bunch of these, i'm 90% sure, on ground near rotting hemlock

Found what I believe to be Hericium Americanum. I know this isn't an I'd thread, but if someone could just confirm that for me I'd really appreciate it. First time ever finding this so I want to be sure.

No this is not the right place to make an ID request but that is ok you are new.
Ill help.
They are Herecium. Nice finds.
If you go back to the page where all the threads are listed to the top right there is a link that says "post"
Hit that and you are on your way to making your own ID requests.

I haven't cooked up these ones yet, but when I've had them before they were very good. Reminded me a bit of Shiitake, actually.
