Great finds! The color sure pops on the first one. Chicken of the Woods? If so, it's crazy how much variety there is from cluster to cluster.

This is from 2010 when I had mojo.

-------------------- "Shrub, 30-90 cm. Leaves 2.5-) 4-9 cm, sessile or amplexicaul, broadly ovate to ovate-oblong, obtuse or rounded to subapiculate or subacute, when crushed not smelling of goats." "The initial quake was a 6.6 but fairly shallow. I felt it as a prolonged up and down vibration followed by a jolt forward and then to the left, like square dancing."

Went out with the crew to the eastern side of the coastal mountains. About twenty minutes west on 26 from Banks and wow wow wow is it a good year. I think someone said it already, but nature seems to be making up for last season already.

Well not much to report, I went up to Mary's peak and didn't find anything so I went to the coast and on the way back home on high 34 I stopped on a logging road and found 5-6 big ones and a few pins, today was a bust, spend $50 on gas and found $.50 worth of mushrooms. Hopefully next weekend I will have some better luck.

That highway sucks so bad! I couldn't find any good place to look that wasn't on anyone's property. Highway 34 has a shit ton of public access and logging road to go on. I definitely picked the wrong path today.

I went up to the cascades today for 2 hrs

Maybe Gymnopilus punctifolius??

My camera phone does this mushroom no justice. Spore print to come.
Maynard I'm headed up tomorrow again. Things are going well in the cascades.

Nice! looks like G. puntifolius to me. I doubt you will get a print off of it.
If you do send it to Joust.

I must have bad karma or something! Nice looking mushrooms I have a birthday party I have to attend tomorrow, otherwise I would absolutely go. What elevation where those growing at?
That bottom one is very weird looking. Could you take a cross section and take a picture in bright light? Does anyone have the Gymnopilus phylogeny tree handy?
