Thanks!
"Feels like my asshole's on fire!" is from the Steve Brule (of Tim & Eric). I wanted an animated gif next to the quote but I couldn't get the thing to work so I'm just left with some vague comment of my butt...
Yeah, I was like a giddy little schoolgirl when I found the fairy ring. The friend I had with me was like "what the fuck dude...?!". I was pretty excited. I told the next hiker on the trail in case they wanted to check it out. They didn't
The bruising on the bolete was awesome. I knew it would bruise fast so I cut it and showed my friend. You can LITERALLY watch the bruising spread from nothing to fully bruised in about 10 seconds.

I just read up on the lions mane mushroom I read it can be found in North America. So I could possibly find one but not likely this year. Im still researching the dream. So far I come up with a message to watch who I choose as friends due to finding and not eating an edible mushroom

Just got back from Oregon late last night. Honestly was one of the best, if not the best day of hunting ever I've ever had. The chanterelles season is phenomenal, I could never imagined profusion if i hadn't seen it with my own eyes. Many Thanks to Ganzig from giving me a tour of some amazing hunting spots, you are an expert guide.
One of the plethora of Cantharellus formosus

Some type of Hydnellum

A Ramaria stricta with some species of Pholiotina near it

Further down the road we found Pholiotina smithii for the first time. Pretty cool little mushroom.

These Inocybes were in the same area as the pholiotina

It was an awesome day to be on the Oregon Coast

Thanks Gazig!

Beautiful! Can't wait for matsis here... Night temps are dipping to about 45... With moisture.
I'm going to go full bore and check out multiple new spots here in another week or two.

Fucking awesome man! I think those are the first matsutake I've seen posted in the PNW edibles thread. Were they growing near pines? What elevation?

Hey pseudotsuga, I was told that the Inocybe is actually a Lacrymaria velutina.
Can't wait to hunt with you again brotha.

Definitely lacrymaria.
That shot of the coast is gorgeous. What a view. I need to make the trip out there and smell the Pacific again.

I'm guessing it;s a slime mold. Each of those was about pin-head sized.

Awesome finds. Where did you go?
I was thinking about heading up to Larch Mt. soon. Probably over hunted for chants but there are other very interesting fungi out there.

Up near Lolo pass road. There was an awful lot of hemlock where we hunted, so I'm guessing that may have something to do with the lack of chanterelles.
Larch Mountain, eh? You're going to invite me, right? Right??
