nope.  he put fossils in the ground to trick us into believing in evolution so we would go to hell and burn forever.

but he loves us.  he's like a psycho girlfriend

How do you explain the old testament prophisizing (spell check) numerous events that wouldn't take place for thousands of years? Not to mention the new evidence that the big FLOOD, from melting ice caps, ctually may have happened RIGHT around the time of Noah's arc? The bible has a lot of geographic info that was WAY before its time. Somewhere in Job in mentions the Earth being a perfect sphere. No one knew that back then. There is even mention of of animals that resemble dinasours.

because if you wait thousands of years for things to happen then they probably will happen eventually?

like what for example?

Google scientific evidence that supports the bible. There is a TON...I know it won't pursue u...but might not make us seem so ignorant.

my counter offer is that you google scientific evidence that shreds the bible a new one :smirk:

starting with the creation story on paragraph 1 of page 1.

Adam & Eve is an allegory for the rise of consciousness.

taking it literally is ridiculous

To be honest I question Adam and Eve too...I think Christianity definetly has its flaws. A preacher told me that the bible is perfect..either its all true or its all fake....I have trouble with this..

it should trouble you.  Evolution is not reconcilable with the creation story.

I have a quote that I really like, and it's not meant to be offensive so please don't take it that way.

"There are those who believe evolution, and there are those who do not understand it."

Quote:

We can keep this simple. According to the Gospel of John, Jesus was God incarnate. In John 17, Jesus prayed that his current and future followers would have the kind of unity that he and his heavenly father enjoyed. He requested this so that the world would have a basis to believe that God had sent him.

“I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they alsomay be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.” John 17:20-21 (NASB)

That was the prayer. What kind of results did the self-proclaimed Son of God get?

It’s 2013.

Christianity is divided into Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox, and their Bibles differ in what books are included in the canon of Scripture. Protestants disagree over which is the most accurate English translation to use. According to the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life report in 2011, there are over 41,000 Christian denominations and movements. Even within particular denominations, there is infighting, controversy and schism.

The passage of time only reveals an increasingly fractured Christianity.

What conclusions can we draw from this?

The prayer for unity by Jesus was a resounding failure, and there is no reason to believe he was sent by God. Perhaps the prayer attributed to him was a pious fiction, or maybe he was a false messiah rejected by a real god. Most likely, there was no god to hear his prayer.

Why should anyone waste time praying in the name of Jesus, when the Bible and history reveal that one of the most important prayers Jesus supposedly uttered went unanswered?

Perhaps this is a good question to ask our Christian friends: If Jesus was God, what use is a god who cannot answer his own prayer?

I don't think evolution completely disproves God...There are plenty of missing links. Ina book that got left out of the bible called the book of Enoch. I highly reccomend researching this. A group of men decided it wasn't bible worthy thousand years ago, idiots. It depicts aliens, or angels, coming to Earth and mating with the humans. After this date, Enoch says we began to change. To become smarter, and look different. Aliens could be god..

a Christian would counter by saying that god works in mysterious ways and it is not yet the end times.

perhaps this "unity" will still be achieved during the second coming

just playing "devil's advocate" here.  (funny how well that phrase fits the situation, haha)

What do u mean he can't answer his own prayer. His death was already planned since the beggining of 'time' When he died he said it is finished and the veil between us and god was broken. He was the sacrificial lamb. Before this point Jews would have to sacrifice animals and go to a holy person to get to god. My family has believed this for tens of generations .I'm not going to be the link that breaks the tradition. Just because I didn't see the shit go down with Jesus, doesn't mean it didn't.
