Automatic Misters. I need some input.

Ok, so I've been using the standard Rubbermaid tub setup with a bunch of holes in it, and everything has been going great my first year of growing. So great as a matter of fact that I went out the other day, and bought some more shelving for a second one. And I'm eventually going to build a third terrarium on top of the two tubs I was just discussing.
Then I started to think of all the misting that I'm going to have to do once I have three different fruiting chambers.
I've come to the conclusion that's it's time to invest in a automatic misting systems to water my mushrooms, and keep my hands from getting carpal tunnel.
I've done a ton of looking around, and it seems to be pretty slim pickings. If you google misters in the many different ways you can think to word it, what you will find mostly is the Zoo Med Habba Mist. But, after reading reviews I've come to the conclusion that thing is Mickey Mouse Bullshit that is not worth the money.
I've also found out that if you buy it in a kit from a company as opposed to do it yourself it is much more expensive. After all they aren't going to gather all the necessary supplies an put in a pretty box for free. Perfectly understandable really. Their selling a service as much as they are selling a product.
I'm looking for something that can be run dry (something that pumps air to pressurize the chamber as opposed to actually pumping water. Pumps that move water cannot be cavitated, and will burn out it you run them dry). I'm looking for something can be programmed and is fully automated.
Both of these systems seem really great but are also pretty expensive.

I'm not opposed to DIY either if someone has a link to a good DIY Automatic Mister TEK that would allow me to the same thing with material bought at Home Depot or Menards. I'm very welled tooled, and could make it with the proper instruction. I just lack any knowledge or background in Automatic Misting.
To anyone feeling the itch to tell me to use the search engine, I did. If you search Automatic Misters, it comes up with every automated sytem (misting or not) that anyone has ever made on the shroomery. Wich is alot of information that doesn't apply to what I'm trying to get too.
Thanks in advance for any links, or suggestions.

They look cool. I wouldn't get one unless I had like a big room fulll of stuff though. I wouldn't think it would be worth it to use for just a few tubs or a single martha.

Why not just use one of those pump up misters that peopl use to spray weed killer, they sell them at any hardware store and I know they have them designed for misting plants

Any misting system needs to be coupled to your eyeballs. Trying to get the exact amount of mist any other way is either going to let your mushrooms dry out, or water log them. I have a handy backpack sprayer with a four gallon tank that can be pressurized. It's great for misting without working a spraygun pump for long periods. RR

From his post it seems like he's into the whole automatic idea of those kits. So he doesn't have to worry about misting every so often. A timer will just go off and do it all by itself.
This post makes me wanna look into doing some homemade system like that though. it would be really cool.

I suppose that one of those pump up weeding misters could be a less expensive alternative that would still save me alot of hand pumping.

To anybody else that may be interested in making there own automated system, I found a new web page this company sells accessories to make you own system with 1/2 PVC. It seems much more affordable, and with using 1/2 inch PVC much more universal. I can't speak to the quality of the misters (How fine the mist is), but if I purchase, and build this system.
Here's the link http://www.littlegreenhouse.com/accessory/mist.shtml

Only thing is the above link is for a system that needs to be tied into a permant water supply. Like a hose of faucet. That doesn't work for me, because mine are in a backroom without a wet wall anywhere near by. Would work for others though
