Do you watch full baseball games?

I just find it hard to do...

Playoff games, yes. Regular season games are difficult. I'm a Detroit Tigers fan and I do watch most games, but not 100% of every game. I stream the games through my tablet and just kind of keep it there in the background, and whenever something happens I'll watch.

However I did once watch a game on a high dose of mushrooms and it felt like the most dramatic sporting event ever -- like game 7 of the World Series or some shit. In reality it was just a meaningless regular season game...1 out of 162.

I'd have to be stoned off my ass on acid to accomplish that feat. Baseball is one of those sports... fun to participate; suicide-inducing to watch.

I know hardcore baseball fans who get amped for every game in the regular season. They'll watch every single inning of every single game. And there's like on average 6 games out of every 7 days of the week. It amazes me how they can do it.

That's why I love football -- the anticipation of the next game, because it doesn't come for another full week. You have all week to get hyped up for it. And there's only 16 regular season games in the NFL (and 12 in college), so every game is big. Baseball on the other hand has 162 freaking games. Overload.

Heh heh, yup. Football is where it's at. If I'm going to watch sports for entertainment it should be played by 400lb men for 8 seconds at a time.

On a side note, it doesn't look like Bama will go all the way for a third time, but hey had a damn good run! (I'm from Bama)

Seriously?! I mean it's tough as fuck to stay on top as long as they have, so maybe it doesn't happen again this year, but they're still loaded and still have Nick Saban. I'd say they have as good a shot as any.

I don't even watch partial baseball games much less full ones.
During the NBA offseason I'm sorely deprived of interesting sports to watch.

I used to enjoy playing rugby, that shit is fun.
Water polo, may sound lame, but that is one tough sport to play.
Those and competitive swimming are my fave sports.

Soccer ain't to bad to play either if you play some challenging people.

I use the DVR but I usually watch over half the game. Once the post season starts I start watching games in full in real time.

I can totally see it happening. Some people would figure that being on LSD would hinder your performance, but I could see it being the other way around. Can you imagine the level of focus you would have if in the right mindset on L? I know online gaming doesn't compare (lol) to pitching on a Major League Baseball mound, but I have been on mushrooms and playing online Madden or Call of Duty and just absolutely killed it. I was in the zone of zones. Every detail was amplified and I was just seeing things develop before everyone else at that time.

So I could see that fa sho as a great help too Dock Ellis that day.

Vodka is cheaper. Get the small bottles. I went to a game with my old man and we talked to this woman who was stuffing about 20 of the pocket shots into her boots, hat, jacket, and pants. Though it was funny.

No, I prefer to watch sports, which require athleticism and physical conditioning. Baseball isn't a sport, it's a game. No more athletic than table tennis.
Football is Americas Sport.
Baseball is Americas game.

Baseball isn't football or basketball athletically (obviously), but it is most certainly a sport. Bowling or Nascar or shit like that -- those aren't sports. But check out some of the incredibly plays & catches that are made in the outfield to record outs. That isn't average athleticism out there in the outfield. Especially in center field. Any of those CFs in the majors would absolutely blow away whomever the top "athlete" (lol'd) at the shroomery is. And by like 100 miles.

It depends on what position it is in baseball. A pitcher can have a fat ass beer gut because they don't have to do anything but pitch. But shortstops & outfielders (for example) are terrific athletes. And some, if not most are on the elite level as far as athleticism goes.

Just a few examples

Average athletes don't make plays like that.

Ill usually pop on a baseball game and browse the shroomery for 3 hours with it in the background. either that or watch it at the gym. couldnt watch it on the edge of my seat though, its just too slow paced

I hear ya, those were some good plays. I just think they are the exception, not the rule. I disagree with this part though:

I was a 4x state qualifier, 3x all-state, 1x state champion wrestler in high school, and wrestled d1 in college for 2 years. Not to mention qualifying for cross-country states twice in high school, running a 5k (3.1 miles) in under 18 minutes, and cross-country isn't on flat ground. And I'm sure I'm not even close to the best athlete on the shroomery, there are a lot of people here bro.

Put it this way. Take the shroomery's absolute top athlete. Or the shroomery's best baseball player. Or both, whatever. Put his ass on a major league roster. Put him in center field for a few games.

He'd be laughed out of the ballpark by the end of the week. Hell actually probably by the 5th inning of his first game. Baseball is far from my favorite sport -- I got boxing/football/basketball at the top of my list (in no particular order), with baseball and hockey coming in behind those. I watch all of them, though. And I'm just saying...baseball is absolutely a sport. To say otherwise I think is really disrespecting how much work those dudes actually put in nearly every single day.

True, but take him and put him on a wrestling mat with me and I will break him. Put him on a track with me and I will burn him. Put him in the weightroom with me and I might out lift him. Just because I suck at baseball doesn't make him a better athlete.

Maybe, I mean depends on who you wrestle or go head to head with in track. There are absolute monsters (Abert Pujols for example goes 6'4", 240) and track speed guys in the majors who would destroy you in either. Then again I'm sure there are guys out there that you could beat as well. That said, I'm really referring to your comment that baseball isn't a sport and is instead a game. That's the real part I disagree with.

I hear you, it's really a moot point on my part. I mean, obviously some baseball players are excellent athletes. Bo Jackson was great at football and baseball. I just lol at the beer gut pitchers, and overweight batters who get paid millions and are made out to be superb athletes, but they couldn't even run a decent mile or give me 50 pushups.

Lol true, true. I will say that baseball is the only sport here in the states where you can be part of it even if you're fat and slow as hell if you can do one of the following two things well: hit and pitch.

Point well taken.

I will admit that of the four major pro sports here in the states (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL), baseball is dead last in that category fa sho. It's hard to judge NHL guys though because they're on skates but at least you don't see any overweight motherfuckers on the ice.

I don't think it's hard to judge at all, and I would put the average NFL and NHL player in a league of their own over both basketball and baseball. Those guys don't run short line shifts because they are out of shape, that's for fucking sure.

Yeah, true (re: short line shifts). But over the NBA? Hockey players? I'll disagree with you there, but then again, I never played hockey.

But I'm guessing your average NBA player is faster, quicker, and can (certainly) jump higher than your average NHL player. I will give the NHL player an advantage in a bar brawl, though

I think hockey players are probably faster and quicker than you realize, especially given their size. Skating is no joke.

It really is hard to even begin to compare hockey to any other (major) sport though since it takes place on a completely different surface.

I think hockey players are probably faster and quicker than you realize, especially given their size. Skating is no joke.

I'm not doubting their speed & quickness, just saying that I would guess your average NBA player is superior than your average NHL player in both categories. I could be wrong, though. Wouldn't be the first time and certainly wouldn't be the last

For all we know, there are some MLB players on the boards.

You constantly make posts thatr fling middle school insults at people you don't like mixed in with maladjusted psychopathic comments about wanting to beat up the other poster with a crowbar.

You know how shit you are, you just don't give a fuck for precisely that reason.

I disendorse you.[/quote]
