It sounds like he's done with it, alright. You honestly sound bitter that you never saw Skream during the days of tunes like Filth and Simple City. I don't see anything wrong with what he's doing.

Bassfreak: I saw caspa a couple times many, many years ago. He was great, fuckin wrecked the parties. But I haven't paid any attention to what he or Skream are up to recently. I know Skream has this monster ego that I could see effecting his output/performances.
skream doesnt play dubstep anymore, he plays house and nu-disco shit at shows now
so yeah, no respect
as someone who basically created a genre, its a sell out move to get away from it...it pisses off real fans
i never got to see skream when he was good
He's really not THAT GREAT of a DJ to be honest... He just mixes banger after banger. Saw him years ago at Barcelona in Austin, TX. Played the Mad Classy anniversary show with benga.
Mad Classy has a sweet sound system. Hatcha signed his name with "I fucking love this sound system". But, to be honest, Gritsy in Houston has the best sound system you'll hear/feel in a proper club enironment. Fuck your laser lights, give me a top notch Italian made speaker system and NO LIGHTS.

part of me is, i guess lol
first time i got to see him he was playing disco, and yeah, fuck that noise
i think at the VERY least he should use a new alias, using the name skream and not playing dubstep is misleading and cheap as fuck

In honor of the man, my favorite Skream tune ever. That part that comes in at 2:58 is always nuts.

The 'We Want Your Soul' remix by Magnetic Man was insane, those boys did a great job with it.
Both of those tunes you posted were good ones though.

Skream definitely left his mark on the dubstep scene. If only he could DJ half as good as Mala.. That dude is like the leader of the scene right now. Seen Mala many times and it's always a blast. Vinyl for days.

Yeah, Mala is a great DJ for sure. You know he's deaf in one ear?

i wish america in general got more shows like this, i think dubstep has been popular long enough for people to be educated on the topic and ready for some deeper cuts
i love "brostep" and bassnectar and shit, but at the same time i love that deep dark heavy UK bassweight too, and i think more people are learning about it since theyve been listening for a few years now
my town is probly one of the few towns in america that has a scene for it and at best we get one event a month, NYC has one too but ive never gone out there for shows unless its something i seriously just cant miss

I did not know that. Nuts.
I hope he doesn't ruin that last ear with the headphones while trying mix. I've had the pleasure to chat with him a few times. Would have asked about that if I knew.

Haha, I'd feel weird walking up to Mala and being like, "Hey man, killer set. Say, can I ask about your medical condition?"

That'd be fucking hilarious and weird. I chatted with him a few times, but one specific time I was able to chat with him for more like 5-10 minutes after the show. Didn't want to occupy his time after the show, but he's such a nice dude. I was asking him about how much hardware he uses, his approach to producing and what not. I'd be curious if the deafness changes his approach to producing and playing. Not ask him for his life story though haha

anyone seen Tycho live?
They're in Shanghai next weekend and I'm thinking about making the trip. DJ Snake is playing too but I think I'd rather see Tycho

Hey, someone else that likes Slugabed! I actually played 'Ultra Heat Treated' at a party once just for my own amusement. I used it as the last track so I wouldn't have to mix out and just let it play through the end. I LOL'ed watching people try to dance to the part where the song gets all fucky. Was hilarious.
