Hi, I’m looking for a suggestion. Trying to find a good compromise here that works for both my fiancée and I with regards to music to play while I try to fall asleep. I like to fall asleep to what I normally listen to, but she likes really soft music. Like the sounds of a person playing a pan flute in the rain or whatever. Does anyone know any good ambient albums that are still fascinating but don’t have a beat really? Or maybe something kind of sparse with a very gentle beat? And no vocals. If anyone has any idea of something that fits that description, I’d appreciate hearing of it.

Not really a sleepy tune but did you listen to the ilan bluestone track I posted there the other day, some of his stuff is pretty chill

I would say some psy-dub might fit that. Some psy-dub artists make more ambient music. Bluetech, Tipper, Aphex Twin and zer0 0ne come to mind.
Also, any compliation CD made for Meditation or that has a "Buddah" vibe to it would work as well.

Binaural beats music is good for sleeping. Theres real science behind it, but you need to listen to it on headphones. It plays at a different frequency in each ear which creates a third frequency in the brain. Theres different tracks for meditation or sleep or whatever.

I might try to go with something like Whitebear, or maybe select works by S U R V I V E.
Or I might try to find a movie score that fits the bill.

@Burke:
Emancipator - Dusk to Dawn
https://koresma.bandcamp.com/album/east
Koresma - East
Bonobo - Black Sands
If those are too beat heavy for winding down, there is also all kinds of stuff similar to this that I could get into:
Nils Frahm - Encores 1
Ólafur Arnalds - improvisations
^Not really with the electronic genre though.

Damn, R.I.P. Keith Flint. https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/8555072/prodigy-keith-flint-dead-suicide-firestarter/
That’s kind of a strange coincidence. Just a few days ago (Friday?) I was driving and ‘Breathe’ came on the radio. My four year old LOVED it, so when we got home, I pulled up a few Prodigy videos for him. He thought they were pretty cool, haha. Tbh, they seemed a lot sillier than I recall from when I was 15 or whatever, but while watching them I wondered what Liam, Max, and Keith were up to these days. Hadn’t thought of the Prodigy for a while, and then this. It’s a bummer for sure, but I think that he lived the life he wanted to. And it’s hard to feel too bad about that. Below is my favorite song off their smash hit ‘Fat of the Land’ record.
Prodigy- Mindfields
