Maybe it’s one of those things where the sum is greater than its parts, but I can only focus on the parts. But hey, I mostly listen to 80s wannabe eurotrash junkfood-for-the-ears music, so what do I know?
Yeah fidget is a hit or miss ganre 100% but when it's good it's amazing! And when it's bad it sounds like my ass after tacobell.

Those are some killer visuals Burke, I'll make sure to check out that Robert Parker album later.
Anyway someone posted a picture of the Giger museum which reminded me about this weird live by Manu le Malin :

Yo, I’m not in love with every album I posted the art of, but that Robert Parker record is sick. And holy shit! I used to listen to Manu Le Malin like 20 years ago when I was in a hardcore/gabber phase. Haven’t heard the name in ages! Will definitely check the video out once I get the kid to bed.

The late 90s was a good time and bad time for house music. The main genre had become stale, but lots of inventive producers were taking influence from other genres and infusing it to make what could’ve been standard house music real interesting. The song below borrows elements of funky breaks and the “big room” sound that was so popular 20 years ago to make something that I think still sounds fresh.

Never been a big fan of house myself, I guess Drum n'Bass/Jungle got me quicker you know what I mean although I have to say this doesn't sound so '97 lol except for the dudes in the video they sort of remind me of the Bomfunk MC's' Freestyler look.
Totally unrelated but didn't you have a 1001 movies, 1 movie a day or something a few years ago ? How'd that go man ? I was thinking of doing more or less the same this year…
Totally related here's a dope ass classic track I love by Aphrodite

I used to love Aphrodite & Micky Finn back in the day. Badass, the Superman rmx, BM Funkster, etc. Dope jump up.
I did have a 1001 movie project that I got a few hundred movies into, but then years ago I moved across the country, got wrapped back up in heroin, got clean, then had a kid. Somewhere in there I just lost the momentum, and sadly, I hardly watch more than a couple movies a month now. I’d love to pick that project back up though when I have the time, it was a lot of fun. I’d encourage you to do the same!

Well good thing you kicked it dude. I never really gave into heroin, codeine was the closest I got to actually being a regular user, I still do h when it's around but I never buy any although I love to do speedball on the beach while listening to Madonna. Anyway I'll try to get in on with that movie shit though…

To answer your question, no, I don’t at all think dubstep killed dnb. That’s like asking “did the taco kill the burger?”
Anyway, I read that it’s flu season here, everyone’s getting the flu. Here’s some swine flu.

I found this the other day and thought it was kinda interesting. It’s an electronic music song from over 50 years ago, released in 1966. It’s a then-futuristic reimagining of ‘Dance of the Signets’ from Swan Lake, and there’s a bit in the beginning and end that provides samples and basically the whole structure for the song ‘Walking on the Sun’ by Smashmouth. It’s a weird, but catchy little ditty.
