Hi guys.  Here I have two things that may be of interest to fans of electronic dance music.

First off, remember Techno Viking?  The guy who first captured that iconic bit of footage back in 2000 made a documentary about it last year, and it's really good.  It talks about the video, the artist who made it, and the star.  It also contains (a very German) examination of Internet culture, memes, and what going "viral" can mean to the individual.  Really interesting stuff, IMO.  The doc is embedded in this article: http://thump.vice.com/en_au/article/someone-finally-made-a-documentary-about-the-infamous-techno-viking?utm_source=thumpfbusads

And then, just for fun: Darude admits that he's never actually been in a sandstorm. :ooo:

Touched 3 has over 400 songs this release. EDM/IDM/Ambient. A little bit of everything really. This compilation would be great for long car drives.

https://touched.bandcamp.com/album/touched-3

A few artists on the list are 808 State, Amon Tobin, Autechre... There's some high quality stuff on this release.

No no no. What's the next shoe to drop? R Kelly doesn't actually think he is capable of flight? Katy Perry has never met a firework?

Haha, do they actually change the production any, or just slow it down to make these songs?  I can't tell, tbh.  What we need is a classic Greek bust sitting atop a GameCube graemlin, :aesthetic: .

New album from Ludrium the other day, it's funky-fresh.  As far as synthwave goes, I think he's producing the stuff that's closest to its source material.  The actual "instrumentation" sounds to my (admittedly untrained) ear like he's using some actual period hardware in conjunction with modern software tools.  The overall effect is pretty dazzling IMO.  A lot of genuine 80s sounds.  Also, Ludrium's real name is Cody Carpenter, and his father is John.  THAT John.  :headbang:

There's a little bit more than it just being slowed down going on.  Not much, but a little.

I dig that.  Thanks for sharing.  It is nice to know of another creative Carpenter.  Now to get his music into a horror movie.:aweoverdose:

Dope stuff for sure.  Timecop 1983 released a new EP a couple weeks back.  Tbh, I haven't even listened to it yet because I'm backed up with the genre as it is, but I'll get around to it eventually.  Here she is if anyone is interested:
