So I'm seeing what appears to be Trichoderma on the verm casing on top of one of my cakes. Its very small and not deep. Its merely more than a spec.
What do I do?

If you have tric, this will not help at all in one bit. If you are seeing the signs of the "green", you need to isolate. Your long term is that Trich WILL KILL YOUR GROW....Quickly....
You can isolate and finish the flush in hopes of getting a print or some fruits, but figure on your grow being destroyed sooner rather than later.
OR
You can trash it and hope that the spores do not pollute your grow area....I.e. ruin future grows without a serious clean-out.

Sorry I was thinking cobweb for some reasion. I'd isolate still. You never know if your myc will fight back and win or lose.

Since it is small should I dab it with H2O2 or dunk it with a cap of H202 poured in the dunk water. Should I try to cut it off??
All advice is welcome. I left it in my FC and went to work for 6hrs so I guess well see if it grew... =(

As whippy already stated, peroxides only use is for cobweb and will not help with trich. I would toss it or bury it outside.

if you are in the middle of a flush or it just started pinning then whip up a salt paste and apply it to the green spot, that will stunt the growth of the contamination untill the completion of the flush. other than that bury it outside

I have tried multiple methods of removal of tric. Salt can slow it down to finish a flush. I have had limited success with direct rubbing alcohol one ONE occasion with a portabella grow. I have had ONE success with removal by putting a 1/2 pint jar over the infection, and cutting it out by pressing it down. By the numbers, its simply better to remove the cake/tub etc in question. Limited results is by no means a benchmark to measure success. I have had more loss than removal. It sucks, and as hard to comprehend as it is, you are looking at a total loss soon. It gets easier with time.

Well after 6 hours the trich was speading extremely fast. I moved it to a hobo terrarium for fun and the trich is just destroying the cake. Myc didnt stand a chance.
Anyone know the main cause of trich. Dirty hands? Is it airborne?

I wouldn't advise playing around with trich like that. Get rid of it as soon as you spot it, preferably before it's green.
The main cause for trich is trich spores getting in your shit
Really though lots of stuff can cause you to get a lot of contams like trich. Bad sterile procedure, improper pasteurization of substrates, spawning dirty grains. etc...

Trich is everywhere.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trichoderma
Trich will eat through a cake in short order. I am always amazed at how fast it moves. If you see green, you know that it is releasing spores. This can and at times does affect growing areas. Some users report having to deep clean entire rooms just to get back to square one. I get it regular because I live in the bush just outside Podunk county...
Most grows I have had have gotten trich. Some subs lasted months, some shorter. Some users have success in abandoning grows after 2-3 weeks. It all depends on your needs. I run them till they give up, while others go 2-3 flushes and discard. There is a 100% certainty that every grow will contaminate at some juncture. Keeping it out of your grow area should be a priority.

Ya I tossed it. It went from one spot to spots all over the cake in less than 24hrs. Guess I just gotta slow down and be more careful.
Thanks for all the help and advice. Tis much appreciated.
