Which spores for 1st grow?

Hello, hello... Is there anybody in there? I have three spore syringes to choose from for my first grow. Without giving me the 'cube is a cube' cliche, can anybody tell me which spores would be the best? I have Tasmanian, b+, and Cambodians. I know cambos colonize quickly and b+ are supposedly a more fun high. If you we're doing it, which type would you use? Thanks for your help!

It doesn't matter. Pick a name you like and run with it. Psilocybe cubensis is Psilocybe cubensis

There is no one variety of cube that is known to colonize faster, than any other variety.
The same goes for the type of high you will get....there are just way too many variables.
A cube is a cube buddy. When dealing with spores it is always a genetic crapshoot.

Best? B+ is an easy name to remember I guess. And if you think it may be a more fun high, then go for it. Personally I'd just take whichever was closest at hand; I can't see how there can be any guarantee of one being superior to the other. And you'll get around to all of them in due time anyway, won't you? =)

B+ will treat you well. It is true that a cube is a cube, but I have enjoyed working with B+.

And I can find 100s of posts from people saying that B+ is the worst variety ever, and likes to throw out bunk fruits.
So you see, a cube is a cube....

Thanks for the quick replies! I think I'll do 5 jars b+ and the other 5 jars Cambodians. I know and believe that all cubes are pretty much the same. For some reason I still had to ask the question. I'm so excited I don't want to screw anything up. I want to get some killer cubes from outer space! Its been over 3 years since I journeyed with psilocybin! I have been patiently waiting...and waiting. It's gonna be out of this world when I go there again! Thanks again!

Yeah, and how many of those people are absolute amateurs at growing? I've grown some awesome B+.

He's not saying that B+ are bad, he is just saying everyone has something different to say, but ultimately it's all the same.

Please tell me what your personal level of experience has to do with coming across shitty genetics?

Not to derail this, but if people are getting sick of the "cube is a cube" argument then maybe I can bring up another one instead... A name is just a name. Even if I had total consistency within a "strain" or sub-variety I am cultivating, why would I assume that I would get the same results from a syringe from Vendor X just because the name is the same?

Indeed. The fact remains that you're getting multispore syringes from vendors. Each syringe is going to contain so many different genetic strains and every syringe will be different.

then why dont we all just call them cubensis? I'm tired of the names and it would solve alot of problems on this forum if we just called them what tey are(except of course PE,ALBINO A+,ALBINO PE).

No, you can't say all wild cubes from Texas will look like such-and-such, and all wild cubes from Thailand will look like this-or-that. It just ain't so.
Some professional growers such as workman have isolated and narrowed the gene pool down to the point where fairly consistent genetics display from spores, but many unscrupulous vendors grow the same old B+ or whatever and then just slap the name their customer orders on the syringe and call it a strain. Others buy plain old cube prints from amateur growers and then make up exotic sounding names to slap on the syringe and call it a strain. Beware.
This is why we banished so-called 'strain' nonsense to a bastard step-child of an unmoderated thread at the top of the page as a sticky. RR

Why don't you? I pretty much do already, but I'm just a beginner. I figure the names are more of a curio then anything else... Some have fun histories behind them, but my syringe labeled "P. Fanaticus Original" probably has as much in common with the first syringe bearing that name as the Queen of England has in common with her grandsons tenth cousin.
