Itunes question
    #18782292 - 08/31/13 06:09 PM (10 years, 4 months ago)

hey everyone i have a question about itunes

my ipod is starting to get difficult on me and i'm starting to think i'll need to buy a new one soon.  now the problem is i have a ton of music on my ipod but the itunes i used to have is on a hard drive that doesn't exist anymore.  i was wondering if i DL itunes on my new hard drive with 0 songs on it, and then sync my ipod to it, will what i have on my ipod now transfer onto the new itunes?  or would my new itunes replace my ipod and essentially wipe my ipod?  or would neither effect each other??

help greatly appreciated!  thanks!

If you sync your iPod to an empty iTunes you're going to lose the music. It won't let you pull the music from your iPod to import back to iTunes. If you purchased the music that is on your iPod from the iTunes Store, you can pull it down from the Cloud to your new iTunes install, then sync it to the pod. But otherwise you'll be out of luck.
