So, I know about amanitas and how dangerous they can be...but with the persicina, I have heard that mushroom is very unique and does not have lookalikes in the Northwest Georgia. So would it be a good idea to have them I.d.ed everytime? Or am I good now that I've handled them and are familiar with them? I came on last time looking for an I.d. on persicina and never got a t.I. to let me know. Others let me know for sure though last time and it is greatly appreciated still.

Do not worry, A. muscaria is more toxic than all of its lookalikes.  If you think you found A. muscaria or A. persicina, you did, unless you found something from section Caesareae or A. parcivolvata or A. frostiana or A. flavoconia.    In any case, make your best guess and eat it, saving a small amount of dried material for science.  There is no logical reason to be paranoid of Amanitas with red caps.  Its the ones with brown or white caps that will get you.  Amanitas with yellow caps are less safe but it really depends on the base of the stem in that case.

I used to preach extreme caution when identifying A. muscaria, and to always look for concentric rings at the base of the stem.  That was before I knew the genus very well.
