Pan. Cinctulus ID Please
    #18781568 - 08/31/13 02:41 PM (10 years, 4 months ago)

My third day for finding these in the yard but this time was a few dozen. Can someone please verify that these are indeed pan. Cinctulus. The second pic is the spore print of the ones I found yesterday. Two looks to be black and the 2 larger ones look to be brown spore print. Thanks

Ok so is there anyway to tell them apart other than the spore print color?

Spore color is a great way to tell them apart.Sometimes cintulus will bruise blue at the base. They often have reddish stems.

The gills of the foe are brownish.

Check the spore texture.  Panaeolus foenisecii has roughened spores while Panaeolus cinctulus has smooth spores.

Spore print is brown, stems appear fragile and lack the signature twist.

I apologize, top right pic prints on the left to appear to be black. However, your group shot consists mostly of foes.
