Anyone read the book titled "The Psychedelic Experience" by Timothy Leary, Ralph Metzner, and Ram Dass? It's a reformed version of the Tibetian Book of the Dead depicting the ego death and soul resurface of entheogens. I recently picked up a copy after wanting to become more familiar with Ram Dass's writings after "Be Here Now".

I don't know about it, may read it one day. I don't think I really like Leary though. I think maybe he was a numb skull that directed the hippy revolution to "let's get loaded, man!"

Ya idk, I think he aided in making psychedelics too BIG in the public eye. I dont think his intentions were quite as simple as "Lets get loaded, man". I just think he became a figurehead for what was going on and he liked it, but I still think at the root his interest and curiosity sparked by the psychedelic experience was genuine. He was passionate about altered states of consciousness and how to navigate them, just he became a bit of a celebrity over it and went with it. Thats my best guess for the man, but its just an opinion and I sure as hell dont know all the facts of his life, philosophy, and impact.

That I do agree.
However a lot of his decisions were influences by the CIA.

Are there any good documentaries that go into detail about his life and stuff?

It is a great guide for beginner trippers, and provides tools to have a positive trip.
It is very similar to what we try to do in this forum. Hence this forum's name.
