Was Jesus Gay?
    #18780990 - 08/31/13 11:25 AM (10 years, 4 months ago)

"The Gospel of John makes references to the disciple whom Jesus loved (John 13:23, 19:26, 21:7, 20), a phrase which does not occur in the Synoptic Gospels. In the text, this beloved disciple is present at the crucifixion of Jesus, with Jesus' mother, Mary."

The phrase the disciple whom Jesus loved (Greek: ὁ μαθητὴς ὃν ἠγάπα ὁ Ἰησοῦς, ho mathētēs hon ēgapā ho Iēsous) or, in John 20:2, the Beloved Disciple (Greek: ὃν ἐφίλει ὁ Ἰησοῦς, hon ephilei ho Iēsous) is used five times in the Gospel of John,[1] but in no other New Testament accounts of Jesus. John 21:24 claims that the Gospel of John is based on the written testimony of the "Beloved Disciple"

ēgapā is probably etymologically related to agapé, which is the term for love used in the New testament. It has nothing to do with Eros in the Greek texts. The Roman Catholics mingled the two Greek forms to create the Caritas synthesis, which is usually interpreted as 'charity,' but that is not what Caritas means (see Anders Nygren's Agape and Eros). Remember that the Johannine material was written anywhere from 90-120 CE, and the  gospel itself wasn't even titled in the original Greek. Its author, who wrote the Prologue (Prologos), apparently used Philo of Alexandria's writings on the Logos, which the English Bibles translated as "Word" with a capital 'W.' But I digress. There was supposedly a secret letter attributed to Clement of Alexandria which wrote of an initiate coming to Iesous wrapped only in a sheet, alluding to some kind of sexual thing, but this is spurious for too many reasons.

It is still questionable whether Iesous was a singular individual, a composite of wisdom teachers, a literary invention that supposedly was created out of the collected prophesies of the Tenach for political purposes, or whether he existed at all. The Qur'an admits of his existence but says he wasn't crucified. The Jewish Talmud calls him a 'magician' and a 'mamser' (bastard). Paul recognized only the resurrected Christ, a spiritual verity, never anything about the historical Iesous. Docetist Christians and other Gnostics denied that he had a corporeal body, which is why later insertions were written in (as in John) whereby people are declared anathema if they do not admit that "Iesous came in the flesh." All of this hyper-spiritualization is far far away from any heterosexual life let alone the forbidden homosexual practices.

Lastly, if Iesous was a historical figure, and if he indeed did speak openly in the temple, it would mean that he had to be married to a woman for that privilege. Only men who were fully men, and by that is meant married and sexual with a wife, and therefore psychologically and spiritually whole by religious standards, would they be permitted to speak in the temple. Just as one can surmise that Iesous would have been Bar Mitzvah at age 13 , but Bar Mitzvah was not mentioned), and he would have been circumcised on the 8th day after his birth, although that milestone is also not mentioned, if he fulfilled all the dictates of The Law, he would also have had to be married as well, and free of sin, both inwardly and outwardly.

Psychologically, Iesous is the archetype of the Self, and as such, all peoples have projected their own stuff onto him. I've seen Black, Korean, Caucasian, and other images depicting the person. The Christologies attributed to this man are astoundingly numerous in theology. A 1st century jewish peasant would have never heard anything about a Holy Trinity, nor would he have entertained the Hellenistic myth of having been born a demigod of God and a mortal woman. Purely Greek mythology! I used to work with Catholic seminarians for the Archdiocese of Miami. Every one was gay, and a few believed that they were in love with their own imagined Iesous. Fascinating!

Sodomy is a sin so sayeth Leviticus in the old testament, so I suppose more importantly than lying in the same bed or sodomy, did Jesus circumvent this by giving western style handjobs to John?

Jesus could even suck his own cock. They say he could raise a prick from the dead. Even after he died they say he partied for 72 hours in hell with a thorn cock-ring.

As for the Wisdom who is called "the barren," she is the mother of the angels. And the companion of the Savior is Mary Magdalene. But Christ loved her more than all the disciples and used to kiss her often on her mouth. The rest of the disciples were offended by it and expressed disapproval. They said to him, "Why do you love her more than all of us?" The Savior answered and said to them, "Why do I not love you like her?" When a blind man and one who sees are both together in darkness, they are no different from one another. When the light comes, then he who sees will see the light, and he who is blind will remain in darkness.  -- Gospel of Saint Phillip (Gnostic)

So now mockery of beliefs is part of the rules of conduct for this forum?

No, it's just not against the rules. It's not the rule, it's not not the rule, if you get it. At least here's a place where people can face off, without faces, before they rip their faces off, face to face, as it were. There's certainly nothing funny about it, or about religion. You're totally correct. I always am like, 'I'll kill you you fucking heretic,' everytime say a Musselman shucks a dozen Mussels at me.  I love Christians because the best poontang is Christian we all know that. It's the patriarcle thing, shame and guilt and all that. It makes em wetter. So thanks God for Jesus, it keeps the girls in heat.  Odd consequences, that! Not all religions make the girls hot.
