I can't believe we are getting into ANOTHER conflict in the Middle East

I do not support US military actions in Syria.

Brace yourselves.

Comparisons between Assad and bin Laden will be raining from the media next week.  Nothing like celebrating the 9/11 anniversary to stir up public support.

This is only because Obama wants to attack.  If Bush was leading this charge to save his face the media would be hammering him non-stop.

Everyone arguing against the military is fairly liberal I imagine, so what they are doing is destroying weapons.

It is actually a liberal use of the armed forces. They don't want to send troops, just bomb confirmed weapon sites.

Destroying weapons is a good thing . The only problem I see is that Assad will probably build preschools on the weapons sites and tie children to his tanks.

That line of thinking is why I hate mainstream liberalism. I'm radical not liberal. I want the mitary completely eradicated.

:justno:

Why would you want that? "yea, let's just completely get rid of our defense!"

You could definitely argue that we don't use our military for 'defense' anymore and instead use it in BS ways like we are about to if we attack Syria, but then you should be saying "I want the way the military is run to radically change."  But to want it completely abolished?..

If you're pro-war you're pro rich people making a profit off of murdering poor people.

Nothing the military does defends my freedom. Killing people in Iraq didn't help me anymore than Ted Bundy helped me when he was killing girls in a sorority house. And those Iraqis are just as dead. So why the fuck should I feel any different about veterans of foreign wars than serial killers back home? Because they have excuses? Pay for college. Dirt poor. Following orders. Ted Bundy had excuses, too. Maybe even a better one. That's just how he was wired.

If we want to change this world, and we fucking better, we need to drop all this pro-military bullshit and get with the truth. That it's fucking disgusting. That it's a trillion dollar industry of death and destruction. And it's fucking wrong to be a part of it. There's no excuse.

I can assure you that the only thing standing between your slavery and your freedom is the military and the police.  If it wasn't for them people like me would own people like you.  You should kiss their ass on a regular basis.

I think they might send a couple of bombs in a week if they get permission.

If not then they'll wait for the next batch of dead children, and probably have to use more force.

yes, but we have to wait for Sarin. That's the key. Using the Geneva conventions it's all legal.

According to the Geneva Conventions nothing going on there is legal.

I'm getting a little bit tired of Geneva Conventions nonsense.  The only people who give a shit about them are the idiot press (was I redundant there) and governments that give a fuck about them.  Neither Assad nor al Nusra gives a shit.

The rebels used sarin gas too but instead of bombing them we gave them nightvision goggles body armour and  gas mask.:picard:

Zappa what is your view on what America should do if anything.

I consider my self Conservative in many respects and cant belive the conservative house is pushing for this war.

Why we would help the same people who we attempted to clean out of Iraq is beyond me.

We should have never let turkey start arming and training them. What we get for letting a fundi Nato alley run the show

Not really. Both parties have identical foreign policy and the media does a pretty good job of acknowledging that.

Whats appalling is seeing Democrats publicly opposing Obama on a "national security" issue. Canada telling us to fuck off. UK Commons voting against war for the first time since the American Revolution. Is the West finally tired of war?
