They've also committed several genocides which they have never acknowledged. Probably because they want to keep the land they stole from their neighbors. Fuck Turkey.

It is unwise to invade Syria, we don't belong there even if they are committing genocide, we should just bomb their weapon manufacturing sites to protect ourselves from their unauthorized weapons and send documents to the U.N. to explain the actions.

Personally I'm not happy with this at all, and I don't know anyone here who is, because we have nothing to do in Syria. And guess who's gonna pay for all this
It's not like Hollande really gives a shit about Syria anyway, he's just having a bit of a tough time on the home front.. standard diversionary tactics.. foreign policy adventure, fly the flag etc..

Hemming and hawing.
I don't actually think there will be a full-scale invasion of Syria. There seems to be a broad consensus that there shouldn't be any "boots on the ground". There will probably be strategic actions by an American-European coalition as occurred in Libya, however. Missile strikes and no-fly-zones, what have you. It could cripple the regime and allow the baddest bunch of Islamist motherfuckers to take power by force.

Taxes will not be raised, but it will go to the national deficit.
It's impossible to raise federal taxes for anything in the current political climate so government expenditures generally tend to affect the value of the dollar directly (if I understand these things correctly).
