Yeah that fucking devastated me. Ignorance on an entirely new level.

I'll start although I make no claims to the authenticity of my choice.

That sounds like a lovely community to me. Very similar to the kind I envisioned upon reading your question. If say, for all the places it referred to dancing I can exchange such with a rhythm instead, then for me it is perfect.
Reading this left me with reaffirmation of my past dream resolutions, and resonated as truthful insight imo. Perhaps some of desire to trip is to let the unconscious mind spill over into the conscious and perhaps this desire might not be as strong if our culture were encouraging of dream exploration and mastery.

The rich mythology, philosophy and ascetic spiritual ritual practices of OTD probably surpass anything that has been mentioned here.

How so?
Reading about the dream culture of the Senoi and watching the "language of happiness" documentary made me realise how much there is to learn from other cultures / anthropology / linguistics.
My interests have always been more focused on the natural sciences but this little excursion has made me feel like I need a broader perspective.
It affirms my thoughts I was having about getting a Philosophy of the natural Sciences master.
It opened my eyes a bit more.
I also got into lucid dreaming a year ago and quit after succeeding gave me nightmares. The Senoi have shown me a simple method to work through that and I am starting to try again.
All of it just hit home somehow.
