What's goin on here?

So, i'm not at all sure what these are at this point. I know that i fucked up and didn't give them a week after colonization before fruiting. But all these mushrooms seem to have their gills on top and pinhead with a hole there... Any ideas on if this is a mutation or contamination?

that's kinda what i thought, it looks like something else. Not sure what, but the mycelium looked normal. thanks for the help. i can upload better pics if anyone thinks it'll help.
EDIT: high rez pics. hope these help...

Here's a link to something i found, not sure if it's even close to the same thing i've got going on. Any ideas? https://mycotopia.net/forums/fungi-all-edible-medicinal-other-mushrooms/55582-mutant-stems-eating-caps.html
Lastly if this ends up being something no one knows anything about what would you advise I do next. Remove the cakes from the FC and toss them or let it grow? Thanks.

I'd let them grow. That's not mold & they're not active mushrooms.

I guess i can do that, leave them in the FC aswell (because i'm gonna need a FC in a few days for other cakes)? Also, what do you mean by not active?

Yeah, fail fruits. Probably you messed up the environmental settings when they were put inside the terrarium.
Otherwise, it's not the first time I see some kind of weird mutants where epigenetics has some influence.

Aye Aye cap, we'll see what happens. I'll drop pics every 24hrs and I'll write down what happened to the bag pre FC so yall can show me if there's anything else I did other then only 1 week in the dark. 1 more question, can you use hydrogen peroxide on your cube cakes like you can on oyster cakes?

like i said i can write the whole process out in a second, but what i meant was one week in the dark for them to colonize the bag before i tried to pin. Which i know is wrong after doing some research on here, more like 2 weeks.

Don't know if oyster cakes have some particularity but the general ratios with peroxide usually are 1 part of h2o2 to 10 parts of h2o.

You must distinguish between colonizing bags and colonized bags. A common colonizing bag usually needs two weeks to become fully colonized. A colonized bag (100% colonized) can be put to fruit at once. Sometimes it takes, max, one week to see pins, but pinning can start as early as 24 hours if perfect conditions are met.

Ok, well i had heard it takes around 1 week to fully take over a cake and you should let it sit for another week before trying to fruit.
The two cakes in the FC currently came from one master grain bag. One of the master bags had some odd contam that made the mycelium grow brick hard and turn orangey/ yellowy/brown. So we threw it out, and turned the second master bag into around 5 cakes. These two are the best looking cakes. One of them had gotten something resembling red lipstick mold. I had let the cake fully colonize and that took around 1 week. then i put them in indirect sunlight to begin the fruiting process, it took about another week in the light before I saw these. I was worried that being in filter patch bags wasn't giving them enough FAE and water, so I made the FC in these pictures. Took the best looking bags, cleaned off the old small fail fruits and put them in the FC. I had FAE from an airstone, it clogged after 24 hrs of running (prob pump is too small). So I have been opening the top for FAE and watering them by hand with a spray bottle.

I see. You probably messed up with air exchanges and Rh. When fail fruits occur, sometimes mycellium grows back again on those fruits and then it pins again. I don't know if that's the case or a weird mutation. Wait and see.

As long as there is no light at all (direct or indirect) it's good to stop it from pinning. Otherwise, they could start pinning while waiting. I would confine it to a box of some sort inside a dark place, like a closet. If you didn't put it inside a box, opening and closing the closet could be enough to induce pinning.

you're saying to try to stop the mutation/pinhead in the pictures, and to move it back into the dark? What should/would I be looking/waiting for? It's been 20 days from the inoculation and around 10-14 days after the cake has been colonized. (just to make it clear on time frame.)

Nope, I was saying that was a possibility to what happened. If their growth is halted just give them pinning conditions. Mainly check Rh levels, air exchanges and wait. If they keep growing, increase air exchanges.
Look, keep calm, wait a couple of days and report back. Until you can get the hang of it, some processes might be confusing but you're doing things right. A couple of details ( the devil is in the details huh ) can be improved but keep patient !

Ok, word that's what i thought was the next step. Was confused by the wording. They haven't stopped growing at all these pictures where taken about 36hrs after they left bags and got into the FC so they've been going at it. As far as temps i know i want 75-85, but what about humidity? it's been around 70-100% on my cheapo tempgage.

Humidity is your big challenge here. Check growth params here:

You're aiming at primordia formation settings.

It's not a contaminate in the sense of mold. You inoculated it with a culture you didn't know you had. If you don't want to fruit it, then take it out & toss it in the garden.
Also, mushrooms benefit from a circadian rhythm. I keep all of my colonizing jars, bulk, etc. in my room with indirect 12/12 lighting.

Well am i correct to assume that becasue we got the spores from spores101, that when we did master grain to the 5 other WBS bags we got this other spore into the bags, from the environment?

So you're saying don't keep them in the dark while letting the cake colonize? just have everything from bulk grain bags, recently inoculated jars and even the FC in a room with indirect sunlight?

I would guess you got a bad syringe from Sproes101. They're not a sponsor and a lot of bunk syringes have came from them.
Yes & no. Your FC should have direct intense lighting. Colonization:

Word, that makes it very clear. Thank you so much for you're help . I'll be making changes accordingly, we still have some spores comming in from thesporestore, i noticed they're not a sponsor either. I'm really hoping we don't get similar problem.
