Advanced Humidity monitoring + software

Saw an ad for this on slashdot this morning.
http://www.serverscheck.com/sensors/sensor_humidity_temperature.asp
You have to buy the base unit as well as the temperature / humidity probe which comes to about $350 but it claims humidity accuracy of .1% and connects right into your computer. Can send you SMS alerts when your humidity or temperature goes out of your desired levels.
Wonder how well the probe would hold up in a 99% humid environment when it's designed to be used in a data center.
Has anyone ever used something like this? Seems a little over kill but it's fun to pretend.

Yeah, that's what I thought, too.

This sounds pretty cool. The only downside is that if you need to receive SMS alerts then you're away from home and likely can't do anything about your levels anyways!
Whether or not this could be useful and/or made to be worth its price is dependent on how large-scale you are. If you're using monotubs then this would be a huge waste, but if you have a warehouse dedicated to mushrooms then the probe would just be considered another cost.
Just make sure to read everything as I just found this at first glance:
Quote:
Relative Humidity Accuracy: +/- 2 % RH between 10 % RH to 90 % RH and +/- 4 % RH below 10 % RH and above 90 % RH
Maybe it's not as accurate as you thought.. a cigar humidor humidifier will likely work just as well, and for about a 1/10th the cost.
At the end of the day, the mushrooms will tell you what they want and all the gadgets in the world won't help you if you can't translate what they're saying. Feel me?

Huge waste of money.
Humidity is not as important as fresh air exchange, nor as hard to get right.
If you keep your environment RH at 99% you are either soaking everything or smothering it.
The humidity that matters is at the surface of the substrate where you will not be able to effectively measure it.
Want 99% RH? Use a casing layer. It's dirt cheap.
Then work on FAE, the number one pinning trigger.
I have a very effective mini-GH for situations where I need tons of FAE and high RH.
If you think need to worry about humidity so much, your issue is probably not humidity-related
