Im giving this a high probability for success!
Will post pics Sunday.
Interestingly this tub will have to finish up in a dark storage room. Im interested to see how yhe absence of light affects the flush.
This one is for science!!

You'll know for sure whether it's contamed or not in a day or two.
Either they won't fully develop and you'll have a bunch of aborts, or you'll have full grown healthy mushrooms.
Keep us posted!

+2 pts for you guys, you were spot on. I am unfortunately looking at a monotub FULL of aborts.
Once I saw how fast the spawn colonized the coir and the healthy pin set I thought it was in the clear, but it looks like the contam stopped my fruits from maturing.
Learned a lot from this experiment though. Contams aren't necessarily going to throw a wrench in your grow right away, but they will certainly stop you eventually!
Interesting too that symptoms of the contamination didn't manifest themselves until very late in the colonization process. Like I said, these jars were ripping through my rye jars and I dind't even notice any signs of potential contamination until well after they were 100% colonized.
I'm thinking my grain LC somehow got contaminated, which is a shame because I greenlighted it half way through this experiment and knocked up more jars with it
I'll let them go and see if they don't come out healthy, but if they turn out looking like the jars above, STRAIGHT IN THE TRASH.
Thanks for all the input, community.

Edit: On second glance, I can't figure out if this is a contam issue or due to the severe neglect for the tub over the last 4 days.
I checked this yesterday and assumed it wast toast so I left it in storage where it had been over the weekend since I was out of town and had a guest staying in my house.
When I went to grab it today to take these pics for the community, I noticed it had grown some. My polyfil was WAY too tight and it was in a dark, unventiliated room, about 10x18ft, certianly not ideal.
Is that what you guys would have expected for "aborts" or does this look more like severe lack of FAE / no light, which were, unfortunately, the fruiting conditions for this tub.
Feel free to chime in with what you think.

I gave the tub a good fan and have it sitting by a window now, will see if this thing picks up within the next few days, if not, I'm gonna toss it.
I also seriously loosened the polyfil to allow for more FAE.

Aborts are going to be really small and usually have a black cap to them. That looks more like a neglected woman in a bad relationship!
Skinny fruits happen from a lack of light!

Why would you toss a tub that is not only producing mushrooms but has no visible green mold?
That's silly. Give them more fresh air. They look fine.

Tmethyl's "how it should and shouldn't look" would say the same thing. Long, skinny stipe and small caps = lack of FAE.
Keep that tub fruiting, it appears to be doing alright (minus the FAE issue) and only time will tell!
Good luck!

I appreciate the encouragement but these pics are from t +5 days from the pinset pics. These guys might be toast from neglect. Ill update tonight abd well see if theyve grown any. Im tempted to pick these skinny boomers and hope for a nice 2nd flush. Thoughts?

I wonder how your fruiting conditions are, myself.
Have you dialed in your monotub?
They are desperate for fresh air but they don't look aborted.

I did click on the link your sig and found your post on dialing in a monotub. Very helpful and ill definitely is it for my next tub. I had to stash this box in a small unlight and unventilated room for 3 nights 4 days. Should have losened the polyfil considerably before leaving it like that but i didnt . It was definitely getting very little fae those days which is why these fruits barely developed. I was worried i had too much fae and that my subs were drying out so the motto for this tub was tighter ppolyfil. More humidity at the expense of fae. Given i had to store this guy in less than optimal conditions, i should have switched the directive to assure fae at the expense of humidity.
Ill post an update later and well see if these guys have grown at all or if they have stalled out for good. Looking forward to really dialing in my mt next go

Are you running a fan in the room?
Monos do not work right without one.
That is most likely your issue.

So I threw this monotub away.
I've had some good success with monotubs before and have plenty of fungus to show for it. I'm in this for my masterpiece grow and it was clear this wasn't going to be it. These guys just weren't recovering and it was evident these were going to be some DINKY boomers due to the neglect.
I just needed to confirm that my culture wasn't contaminated so that I could continue with the jars I have going and attempt my final grow. Hoping to really dial in my MT / fruiting conditions so that I can get some good forearmed-sized boomers.
Thanks for everybodys input who posted here, hopefully this will prove to be helpful to the community.

Worst comes to worse, just put it outside and let it finish fruiting
You potentially threw away 2+ oz. But at least you did get some, and I bet they'll be potent as fuck
