Is this casing ready to fruit? My friend sent me this image and was wondering. Should he just patch case or fruit?

I would say to fruit it. I probably would have done it a day or so ago.

a day or two ago...

you should be fine though. don't let it run up to the surface like it did in those spots. when it starts just poking through in enough places, birth it.

Definitely a newbie question....and yes I have read through a lot of the FAQs. What steps would you take to birth this and to stop the mycelium growth? Quick answer is all im lookin for... Thanks!

What is so much different about the fruiting chamber that starts the actual growth of mushrooms and stops the growth of mycelium? Just the temperature, air exchange, or what?

My buddy has his casing in his fruiting chamber he says, he said he has a beaker in the fruiting chamber with perlite + h202 and an air hose going into the beaker for air exchange. This is keeping his humidity at 99%, how should he lower it? He doesn't want to cut any holes in the lid or anything because he plans to use the bin later on for cakes instead, and in which he'll need the humidity. So do you think he should use less perlite or what?
