Christina Aguilera had her wild & provocative stage but in addition to that she was still putting out those mind blowing vocals of hers on display.
Miley Cyrus? Blech. Whatever though, to each their own.

I don't think you saw the whole video. She sang like one and a half songs before Thicke even came onstage with her. She changed outfits from a one piece to the two piece latex thing underneath. Not that you need to see the whole thing, but you keep saying she wasn't singing when in fact, she was... just not very well.

I'm specifically talking about the section of the performance where she was with Thicke, which I meant to specify when I said "that aspect of the performance".

Girls are jealous and boys like her. If you dislike her performance, you are gay.

I'm talking about the role she played on stage, which was as Robin Thicke's sexual object.
She was all over him like he was a piece of meat. He was the object. See how I turned that around? In reality I don't think any of them were the "object". They were both being sexual with each other. But you chose to see only the female as the object in this situation because you've been brainwashed to think that it's okay or normal for men to be sexual, but not women.

He was just standing there. He was performing. She was hanging all over him like it was her job.
You have no idea what my view on sexuality is. You're projecting ideas you assume I have on every post I make.

If anything it's probably less socially acceptable for men to dance in an overtly sexual manner than it is for women. Men and women alike often seem to find it gross to watch for whatever reason. A woman has to go that extra mile to reach that grossout point it would seem.

He was singing his song for Pete's sake! It wasn't exactly a duet. It was just staged for him to come out while she remained. They are both adults. I am sure that if one of them didn't want to be onstage with the other that would have been arranged.

No you said he was standing and singing while she was dancing against him like it was her job.
It was her job. She chose to do it.
And at that point, it was his job to sing.
They both had jobs to do.
They both seemed to want the gig.

You mean like he was an object? What's wrong with her playing that part during the performance? What's wrong with a woman being sexual? Maybe she's breaking down sexual barriers. Maybe she's saying "We woman like being sexy. We like sex. We like it when men look at us with desire. Free yourselves from your self imposed sexual prison and join me in celebrating one of life's greatest joys - sexual freedom."

When you say something and there's only one logical reason for you to say it, then yes, I think I know what your view is. No offense, but I think you're jealous that Miley has the guts to show her body and her robust sex drive in front of the world. You haven't found the courage yet to let the world see your true sexual nature like Miley has. It's okay. We're all oppressed to some degree. Myself included. I wish I could show the world my cock, but I'm too afraid to. But when another man does it, I salute him. Not knock him.

Are you reading my posts Leary? I have no problem with women being sexual, I myself greatly enjoy sex and I think sexual freedom is important. However, I think our culture focuses too much on women's primary contribution being their sexuality and sexual abilities. I like a woman being able to be sexy, and I'm all for that.

Are you being serious here? You're projecting so hard. I'm not at all interested in showing my body or robust sex drive to the world. I'm not jealous, I'm perfectly satisfied in that area of my life and I don't think a biological drive is something necessarily to be proud of or that I need to show to the world for validation.

Your posts continually seem to imply that I'm saying either one of them was forced into it. I know they both wanted the gig. If you read my opinion on the subject, my problem with the whole thing is that I think it feeds more into the idea that women are most important for what they can offer sexually - which is pretty much the theme of most top 40 music like we see at the VMAs anyway so I wouldn't expect anything much different from that caliber of an "awards show".

I don't see any difference between Miley and say, Madonna's controversial VMA performance of Like a Virgin...

Well the world is making fun of her and calling her names for doing it. Most people aren't praising her for it. It seems to me that the world is saying "Shame on you Miley. Put your long dress back on and get into the kitchen. When it's breeding time, you may then engage in sex with your husband." But I say fuck that. They're all a bunch of uptight prudes. Everyone should get naked and fuck right now. Freedom for all!
