i live in south florida and have 6 little t.bridgessi that started growing some wierd black spots but they have all gone away since except for one cactus that now looks like it has a flesh eating disease. i do not know what it is but if i cut it off it just comes back more aggressively.
i was thinking about just cutting the top half off but i rather not if there is a way to cure it
i also have a tall san pedro that just got a small black spot that looks like the way the others started
this is the worst one

then here is the san pedro

and another small bridgessi with a small black spot that hasnt grown anymore

also i have these growing with the bridgessi and im curious as to what the hell they are i have 3 of these and one has an extra 2 on it

Looks like a bunch of bacterial problems. Over watering or too much humidity could be the culrit. When you cut out a bad spot you should sprinkle sulfur in it to deter bacteria from re-killing it. (so I've heard)

My trichos has these kind of black spots. They are not so bad. Now most of them they have scarring and black is gone.
Sometimes when you took cactus like trichocereus from shady place to bright, they get these black spots.
I don't see major problem there. Let them dry from soil and keep dry long time.
Black spots has come to me usually when I took cactus away from mail parcel and plant it in too bright light.
These spots will disappear, just reduce watering and let them be.
Also I have scars on tricos like 4-5cm long seems they are "bursted" or "exploded" but now they are just whitish scar.
I noticed that dehydrating cactus and watering more randomly these spots can be gone away.. Round(or small area) spots are just harmless.. As long as skin has black spots not wide area of black it's not rot and you don't have to worry about it.
I have actually seen these spots comes usually at spring and disappear when summer goes.
Don't worry and stop watering for a while, these spots should be gone and left behind white scar. You can see when these spots starting to die when edges of them is going gray-whitish and later on your plants have just harmless scars on them.
Growth tips are very nice condition.
