Dried Mushrooms, ARE THEY MOLDY?

I just recently acquired a quarter of cubensis but some of the bases of the stems are very soft. I can't remember if the mycelium is rather fluffy on home grown because for the last year i only had wild mushrooms, so any insight would be awesome. Here's some pictures to explain what i'm talking about.

Nope, just fuzzy feet from either genetics or poor FAE. Not mold.

I see that lots on homegrown festy shrooms not properly dried, in person when I examine them they look like your pictures.
In my opinion they are slightly contaminated. I would suggest making a tea and eating them in short order, or finish drying them...and still make a tea when you decide to dose- if the guy wont take them back.

I'm sorry I know you got the TC tag but how are you so sure they are contamed? I've seen hundreds like these too- properly dried to a cracker crisp. I've had whole tubs look like this and not lose it to contams over 4-5 flushes.
If bacteria or mold were present in my situation I would have lost the tubs long before tossing them out.

I had to double look, but the two fat stemmed shrooms you can even tell by the picture they are not properly dried. The white stuff growing on the base of the stem is probably a combination of the myc regenerating a bit, and some bacterial infestation post harvest. This happens when partially dried shrooms are put in a plastic bag for very long :p

If you bend the stems and put back in the bag they may even continue to bruise or blacken...if not cracker crisp.

I dunno I don't see it, still looks like fuzzy feet. I'd have no qualms about eating those. I'd imagine if it was growth after the fact we would see it on all the mushrooms not just a few and such little growth.

+1 for fuzzy feet. My last monotub all had fuzzy feet, and even when cracker dry, the fuzz stayed prominent and was as soft as the day I picked them.
OP, they are fine. As long as they seem cracker dry and don't produce any odd smells, you are more than likely fine to consume as you wish.

Whether it's a secondary fungus or fuzzy feet, OP needs to yell. Drying mushrooms improperly can give a REALLY skewed weight. Cracker-dry mushrooms weigh about 10% the weight of fresh mushrooms, on average, and if they're bendy you're looking at 20% moisture minimum.
There. Fixed.

Rule #7.

Also whats with the assumption those aren't dry. Unless you drive to the OP's house and molest them yourself you can't tell if those are not properly drive.
OP, if it wasn't against the rules I would totally eat those for you without hesitation.

Sorry about the double post, but it looks like someone tried to pick off the fuzzy feet and on the ones that don't have it the feet were probably cut off after they were dry. You can tell by the variations of smoothness on the bottoms. On the ones with no fuzzy feet you can see the bottoms are "splintered".

Thank you all for the responses. My friend decided to sample a gram and volunteered to be the guinne pig. (pretty stupid but he didn't care) he tripped decently and we payed more than said above. Which is a shame due to water weight but they are nearly dried all the way, stems bend slightly before cracking. Anyways, compared to my outdoor found cubensis that i dried myself their almost entirely dried. Just wondering, should i finish drying them using a fan or can i proceed to store them in a mason jar? And whats rule #7? Sorry if i sound noobish

I wouldn't have any problem eating them at this point. I would still put in a tea to help avoid slight tummy ache. If they aren't completely cracker crisp I would dry them if you plan on keeping them more than a few days.
I hypothesize dude dried them all together of course, and the smaller shrooms became more dry, and the thicker stemmed shrooms remained a lil wet.
I just wish he would tell us if they are indeed "bendy". :p

Damn i am planning on storing them, and yes now that i look again, some stems bend then crackle then break the some just bend and don't. I can't believe i didn't remember that from the 35 grams i dried myself using "damp-rid".

OP, if it wasn't against the rules I would totally eat those for you without hesitation.
It was always my understanding that rule 7 applied to people talking about trading/selling on the distribution end, rather than "hay i bought these shrooms." I've seen dozens of posts from this angle that didn't get moderator attention--did I do something especially bad, or are all of these in the wrong? I'm not whining: this is an actual request for clarification.
The "assumption" that these aren't dry is based on the fact that the OP said the bottom of the stems are soft. Soft is not cracker dry. Also, secondary fungi don't grow on cracker dry mushrooms, so for us to even be considering that as an option presupposes the mushrooms to be improperly dried.

I thought it was frowned upon to talk about anything financial regarding fungus outside of cultivation costs. I dunno from the multiple posts from the mods that say don't talk about this or that when it comes to them it seems that its better to avoid the conversations of I paid x amount for this amount of that.
I can understand why we are thinking different things. To me improperly dried mushrooms feel that way, still moist and very pliable. Some of the denser ones I have kept in the dehydrator 48 hours and no change after the additional 30 hours I added to my normal dry times. When I think soft I think of that microfiber feel with styrofoamish texture that dry fuzzie feet normally have.
