I like how Mack axed their D. Coordinator right after the game to deflect the heat. If you think that low of your DC that he could be fired two games into the season -- he should have never entered the season with a job to begin with.

And then they hired back Greg Robinson. Greg fucking Robinson. The same dude that drove Syracuse into the fucking ground as head coach then went to Michigan to be their D coordinator where they spent his entire time not playing any defense. What a fucking joke of a hire.

Woman schedules her wedding in College Station the weekend of the A&M/Alabama game, soon finds that her guests plan on skipping the ceremony and hotel rooms are almost double price:

The conflict had never crossed her mind, Ms. Zachria admits, an oversight she blames on her fiancé. "I totally dropped the ball on that one," said Mr. McBroom, the groom. "I got so used to saying 'yes, dear,' that I didn't even think about football season."

At least wait until you're actually hitched before turning into a ballless sycophant, boys.

The point is they cheated and that South Park episode was pretty much spot on.
The BCS is retarded anyway and no one will care about the BCS era once the playoff system gets implemented. The NCAA is a joke i will agree with you on that.
He was always going to be a first round pick 40 g is chump change, especially when you will make millions in 4 years time. What you bought a Escalade, ya you ballin' dawg. Totally worth sacrificing your integrity for..... Wait that word may be a little too big for this guy.

I wonder if he even got into the double digits on the act?

I don't know what South Park episode you speak of. I dunno, I don't really think players taking money is a big deal at all, or any sacrificing their integrity in any way.

How isn't it sacrificing your integrity? You are supposed to be an amateur "student" (clearly homie has never been to a class in his life) athlete, and until that changes get fucked you cheating cunt. Honestly i had a little sympathy until i realized he IS in fact legally retarded.

I just don't think it is, clearly we disagree on the entire matter so there's no point in arguing about it.

It's not because the idea of football players as both amateur and students has been a fiction for decades, if not since the invention of college sports. And a very thinly-veiled fiction at that. I also don't see any real reason to care that these guys are paid for their work just the way other types of entertainers are. No skin off my back.

Lets not forget the fact that they get a free, full ride at 4 year, prestigious universities. And they get to be on television where they can showcase their skills to the next level, where if good enough, they ultimately become rich beyond their wildest dreams.

Saying that someone's doing well is reason for them not to be allowed to do better is a ridiculous argument.
Not to mention that it's weirdly sanctimonious to have these restrictions on only athletes. No one would get mad if outside donors or even schools themselves gave perks like laptops or cash to cover expenses to students who are excelling at their studies. In fact there are lots of scholarships that do exactly that. There is no ideal of the "amateur scholar", and there is no outcry when students make money off of things related to their studies (for example, if a science major got a job being a lab tech with his/her professor, or if a CS major made a profitable website).
Let's also not forget all this new scientific research on the deleterious effects playing football has on the body and brain. Effects that happen to almost all players, not just the few who make it to the next level.
