So statutory rape is OK in your book. It's all the girls fault. Teacher couldn't say no? BTW,you forgot to answer this...
" Would you feel this way if your 14 year daughter was repeatedly raped by a 50 year old teacher?"
And

...so you're still saying that all you can to is post graemlins and say 'that's totally fucked up man'
I'm still saying? I have 3 posts in this thread. You have 15., and don't attribute your 'made up words'('that's totally fucked up man') to me. I never said any thing like that. People that support rapists should be banned. And look, only 1 graemlin. Is that better? ...

Even if it wasn't "dark alleyway rape", it's fucked up for a grown man, a father himself with plenty of sexual experience to take some kid. Even though she knew what she was doing, the situation was fucked all over. Now, I'm not saying she directly offed herself because of the fact the teacher was doing her, but it must have contributed to it. Can't you fucking understand what a pedophile is? Any responsible man would have turned her down (assuming she came on to him, I honestly didn't read through it all), he CHOSE to do her even though it was wrong.

From this thread pris, this is the honest impression you've given me.

They both consented to the sex, so both have a certain degree of responsibility for the act.
Would you hold a 14 year old accountable for stealing or murder? The justice system does hold them accountable for their behavior.

Who the hell cares if she's okay with it? Minors are minors, they are unintelligent shortsighted and unable to see consequences for their actions in the same way adults are. There is a reason why we don't allow them at the shroomery, smoke or any number of things, I mean the Supreme Court even ruled recently that they can't get the death penalty because it's cruel and usual I believe. So again, a 14 year old's consent is not the same as a 50+ year old teacher's You'd think one of them would know better as their livelihood, forget the law, is based on educating and caring for children, one of whom they had sex with and subsequently killed themselves. Nice.

Minors can't see the consequences of their actions? At age 14 I knew the consequences of my behavior, and so did all of my peers.
Why do you think 14 year olds are so stupid? Were you dumb at 14?

In the eyes of the law, I guess it depends on the state and all that. But some people never grow up. I get that, I just think it's besides the point. He's a fucking teacher, he's in his 50's. That deserves more than 30 days, just the fact he's a teacher the judge should've taken that in to consideration in his sentencing. People get more than 30 days for fucking having weed on them, and this guy gets away with 30 days for having sex with a 14 year old. That is fucked up.

You still avoid the question.. What if it was your child?
You are literally comparing the consent of a 50 year old to the consent of a 14 year old.
I have to go with Gzuf.. Minors are near sighted and at 14 you are hardly developed enough to even make your own life decisions.
Pris.. you just keep defending this guy and dont look at him as guilty at all. So like once stated in this thread
pris = down for statuary rape from my understanding of what you type.

Many countries around the world have even lower, 13-15 in most cases, what makes 16 correct?

Kids aren't able to think of the long term consequences like an adult can. My son has repeatedly proven this point. Kids are impulsive and everything is in the moment, there is rarely consideration of what could happen, and how could a 14 year old really know of the long term consequences of sex? There's more than just "I could get an STD" or "I could get pregnant".. There's the emotional turmoil involved as well as the social stigma.
Doesn't matter if "she was okay with it" because most of them are incapable of thinking in the long term. Myself included. I'm still paying for the mistakes I made when I was an impulsive teen.

Statutory rape
Quote:
...In statutory rape, overt force or threat need not be present. The laws presume coercion, because a minor or mentally challenged adult is legally incapable of giving consent to the act.
The term "statutory rape" generally refers to sex between an adult and a sexually mature minor past the age of puberty...
...Laws vary in their definitions of statutory rape. It is generally intended to punish heinous cases of an adult taking sexual advantage of a minor. Thus, many jurisdictions prohibit allowing a juvenile to be tried as an adult under this law (most jurisdictions have separate provisions for child molestation or forcible rape which can be applied to juveniles and for which a minor can be tried as an adult).

Speak for yourself, I know more today, but I was not uninformed at age 14. Most 14 year olds are held accountable for their behavior, so why is it different when it comes to sexual activity?
