Habitat:
Open fields with horses in (near their poo) The north west of England

- light grey, feel sticky on the cap. light grey gills. Spore print very faint dirty looking.

This one seemed like the odd one out. Dark grey gills flat top. Spore print purple/dark.

jet black gills looked brighter (silvery/chrome) when picked with tears towards the bottom of the cap. Spore print quite dark.

I see a Panaeolus papilionaceus there in the bottom pic.

Panaeolus papilionaceus does grow in UK. Its quite commonly found on pasturelands in/around dung

That range distribution map is very specific! According to that map, we do not have P. papilionaceus in most states in the United States. For P. papilionaceus, almost the entire world map should be colored green...

Thank you winters. I try and tell people all the time species do not adhere to "maps." They follow the climate. And food.
