Put too much WBS in jar and sterilized...

New Issue: So I soaked and PC'd some WBS. Doin 1 jar at a time for a 2 jar spawn run. I filled the first jar up a little too far, it's nearly to the top and shaking won't work well. Can I load it into the ol glovebox, dump some out, put the lid back on, and then innoc? I'm using TL's lids with an SFD filter and silicone injection port. I imagine resterilizing would fuck with the moisture content of the seeds.
Also, I've never successfully completed a WBS jar so do these look hydrated? I guess I feel like some of them look like they didn't take any water, but they are large and I followed everything to the T.

Older Issue: SOLVED Is there a generally accepted horse poop bulk recipe like damion5050s for coir verm? I was hoping for a well tested hard to fuck up recipe. Theres just so many that I was hoping for experiemced input. is it true that the poop thats dried to white is the absolute best? Thanks in advance as usual hunting down my answers not just sitti.g and waiting on help.

your going to want to mix your hpoo with straw or coir to make it more airy. when I use straw I usually go with 70% to 80% poo to 30% to 20% straw (frank has a good tek for the straw) when I do poo/coir I like to do 50% poo to 40% coir then add 10% verm but the verm is probabaly not required. I dont usually mess around with coffee grounds, lime,or gypsum or anything else but you may be able to get a little more out of your sub by adding something like that.

its hard to say so you cant shake them at all? your best bet would be to either re sterilize or start over

Dumping a bit of grains out in the SAB would work fine. If it were me, I'd sterilize an empty grain jar & dump the overly full one into that.

What size jar is that? If it's a quart then I don't think they're very well hydrated at all. It could just be the perspective but compare them to size of the original dry grains, they should be significantly larger.

Its' a quart jar.
I'll do that, but they did soak for about 30m less than 24 hours. Thanks for your responses homies.

So, the WBS I was using wasn't getting hydrated, it just never looked or felt any larger than what's in the bag. I went up to the local store and found a different brand for 99 cents a bag. I took pictures, should this work? I'll remove floaties and cracked corn during the soak.

Sunflower seeds aren't the greatest, and cracked corn will make your spawn sticky, but it technically should work.

If they don't get fully hydrated during the soak you can boil or simmer them afterward until they do. Which you should really do anyway or they'll take forever to dry.

I picked up a bag of stuff from walmart that was basically the same minus the cracked corn and just manually removed all of the sunflower seeds. That's easy because they float during the rinse. I follow Frank's WBS prep so I bring it to the start of the simmer then drain and dry by shaking over the course of an hour.

So I forgot to add Gypsum to my first batch of WBS out of two. Can I add it now before I sterilize?

If you fill your WBS jar too full and sterilize it, just dump some out, then sterilize it again
