Great pics, you sure get to hunt a lot in Mexico. It would be awesome to travel and hunt for fungi in different countries.
How do they treat you outside the area of where you are staying? Not trying to be racist, but know the gringo isn't at the top of the list down there.

Nobody likes big fat idiotic tourists that have no knowledge or respect for the local culture, I think a lot of the reputation about places come from those people's perspective. You'd be amazed how far a little bit of the local language and a respectful demeanor will get you in most foreign countries. Paris? That's another story, they're just assholes.

This. I was just going to say the same exact thing. Including the thing about Paris. Lol. I hear other parts of France are okay, but Paris is a funny little place.

That is great to hear. My good friend married a Latino years ago, and is still nervous when he goes there. He is probably in a bad area. He was telling me that they have no guns and the cartels have influence over the little village they live in. He said most of the little village is all related so he is ok if he stays within.
On the other hand, here in the US he is involved with many Mexican establishments which involve drinking. Every time, I have visited, and them not knowing who I am, they treat me like a celebrity. I have never bought a drink and have had to refuse the overwhelming offers that were sent my way.
I would still take the risk of traveling there to hunt. Hint...so let me know when the next adventure is

Thanks! For a very limited time you can download all the RAW files for this find and a couple other similar ones at http://plantobserver.org/cr2/
If you can make something cool from them go ahead and post the images in this thread. A bunch of them have not been uploaded anywhere else yet.

C'mon Lep! Let's go to MEHEEEECOOOO! One year I swear I want to take a trip all over the US following the fruiting psilocybes. Start in spring in the northeast with ovoids, move down to the southeast for weilii, cubensis, pan cyans, etc, then to mexico, and then the west coast.

Supporters get 1,500 characters! Lol, I don't really know if it's even possible to be honest, I'm not overly knowledgeable about stuff like that. I would think that if you could embed YouTube videos in a signature that flash based games would also work. Maybe try using the search function on this site, I'm sure we're not the first people to discuss it.

You guys are really making some tremendous headway with this species. I'm pretty psyched you ate some! Not because you ate them, but because this species is so sacred to to the natives (Mazatec?) of the region. Like you say, maybe not as sought after as zapotecorum, but I feel the rarity of these must behold a special treat in its experience. I would really like to go deep into some of the other mexican species, besides caerulescens i guess which we have here in GA. Their experience is so heavy... Very emotional and spiritual. Or maybe that's just me. Although I never have trips like I do from caerulescens on any other mushroom. I want to see what the other "teonanacatl" species have in store! Would it be a bother if I asked you to write a little report sometime? This raddish flavor... Is it totally unique or is it kind of similar to the strange acrid flavor of caerulescens?

I see. I am so scared sometimes to dose high, and then I do it, and I'm always so glad I did! I had a trip the other night with my girlfriend... We didn't have a scale, so just ate what we thought was right. I ended up eating more than I think I would normally weigh out, and holy crap. It was fantastic. I basically sat on the toilet for 2.5 hours contemplating all the really bad lies I had fucked myself over with, saw insane imagery of Hindu-archetypes, cows, mandalas, cone-headed little entities, etc. switched religions about eight times, then kind of "died" and was "reborn" anew. I never took the shit I had sat down to take, but I felt as if I had just done some sort of epic bowel movement of the psyche. Lol
