I'm 26 and going back to school to get a certification in HVAC. My classes are filled with what seems yo be 16 year olds..I feel dirty even looking at the girls sitting around me. Have I really aged this much since highschool? I'm having a quarter-life crisis here!! Could be because its a community college and my last experience was at a university?

Most of the people there are probably 18-19, some even 17. That's pretty friggin' young.

Sorry I don't have an answer to your question but I'm curious how long it takes to get certified in HVAC? A year?

18 months for certification. Two and a half years for associates in applied science.

Damn I'm only taking math 22 which is algebra/trig and struggling, props on taking calculus. I have to take a 100 level math class eventually to get my degree. I think there is a statistics class that will be easier than calc.

Heating ventilation and air conditioning. My whole family is self employed and are entrepreneurs and I hope to one day follow in their footsteps by owning my own company

most vocational schools allow people in high school to dual enroll. It wouldn't be a surprise if you actually have high school kids in there.

Haha disregard the crisis. Focus on your studies!
Yes, most of them will be really young. There will be other people your age, some a bit older, and on a rare occasion, a few older than you (although most people seeking education at that age will be doing so in a University).
If you're looking for friends, there's nothing wrong with an age gap. Just keep in mind that most of them won't even be able to comprehend you as a close friend; neither will you be able to. 5-10 years is a big difference. At this point, most of us are technologically driven, and a lot happens in 5 years for technology. Don't take it personally, it's just the way it is.
If you're looking for a 'mate'... honestly, forget it. You can probably get a few girls to fuck you because they like older guys, but other than that, I wouldn't get your hopes up.
I know you didn't even reference either of the last 2 paragraphs.. I just threw them out there since you seem to care about who is in your classes. However, I will refer to my initial point: focus on your studies!
Leave (most of) your socializing outside of school.
Of course, this is all simply my opinion. Do what you will, but I hope you take something from this!

Great advice thanks. I didn't focus on my studies at the University I went to when I was 18. Ended up flunking out after 2 years. This time I'm here just for the studies! I have the love of my life so definetly not looking for a mate. What did you major in?

What is this supposed to mean? Are you suggesting that you can't keep up on technology with people 5 years younger? That's just silly and completely untrue.
The truth is that 5 years in your late teens and early 20s can be the difference from being in high school to managing a company. The maturity gap is huge, it makes complete sense that you would view them as being young.
Once you hit your mid-late 20s or so 5 years means a lot less, but before then it's a world of difference.

Hey thanks for putting words in my mouth when you don't know what I mean, instead of asking.
I'm referring to how much what you view on the internet affects you. My sister and some people I work with are prime examples of it. They're random for the sake of being random, and 'different', without actually achieving what they set out for, while believing they do. They're being fed a different set of media than 5 years ago, lapping up a different set of trends than was being spewed 5 years ago.
I agree with your maturity gap, but like everything involving people, it depends on the person.

I don't think that has much to do with the internet. They just sound young. I did random stupid shit when I was 13-14 too.
