Made some fresh caught sea bass and crab with stir fry from chicken of the woods, chantrelles, onions, and bell pepers.
And some reishi lemon green tea.

This year is an amazing year for chantrelles, especially after a horrible season last year. Ive started giving them away to everybody i know who likes them and drying some for a year long supply for soups. Anybody want some???
They seem to be the most common species around here right now aside from the thousands of Russula everywhere...
Speaking of Russula here is some photogenic Russula brevipes I found today. Not an edible but I would like to share.

Also a very good year for Laetiporus Found 4 new patches so far this year with some nice flushes on them.

Always love the family shots.

They taste kind of like fruity carrots or something to me. I'm not knocking them for anyone who likes them though, but I like hearty flavors in mushrooms. That could change someday maybe
I do really like the way they smell, and they look cool

Fruity carrots! lol! That is hilarious and pretty accurate.

I love em though. Try mixing them with crimini and saute them. I friggin love that mix so much. I don't care what anyone says.

Any tips for keeping chicken of the woods good for longer than a few days? They start getting funky after 2-3 days unlike most mushrooms i pick. I dehydrated some but only like dehydrated mushrooms in soup... This patch has so much on it that I would hate to see most of it rot away after its fully mature.
Also been thinking about a plan to take some Laetiporus plug spawn (I can buy it locally here) and plugging them into suitable stumps i find all around in the woods. Id like to help them spread and be more common.
