Why do Metal lids with Whataman Filters Leak?

I made twelve LC lids with the regular wide mouth metal lids that come with the jars by adding a filer hole that I placed a Whataman filter in and an inoculation hole that I filled up with Red RTV Silicone (the Whataman was also properly 'enclosed' in RTV).
After curing, I filled the jars about 3/4 of the way full of water and then screwed the LC lids onto the jars. Six of the jars had the rubber facing up and the other six had the rubber facing down. I then PCed for 30 minutes at 25 PSI to sterilize the water.
After allowing to cool overnight, I opened the PC and inspected the jars. I noticed that if I swirled them vigorously water would leak from the seams of the jar where the lid was screwed onto it. They DO NOT leak from the 'hole' where the Whataman is located or from the the inoculation that is properly sealed with RTV.
Why are my LC jars leaking? Should I have added plumber's tape like is called for when using plastic LC lids? Do they leak because I screwed the lids on tight instead of leaving them a little loose?
Could only people who have experience in this matter, and not arm chair mycologists or theorists, answer the question please? Thank you. I used the search function and couldn't find what I was looking for.

Sounds like a bad seal between the lid ring and jar. Always fully tighten your lids on your jars for the sterilization process.

Thanks for the response. I made sure every lid was on super tight before I PCed the jars, and after they were PCed, I checked the lids and they were still on super snug. They all leaked when I swirled the jars vigorously.
Maybe I'll just move on to plastic lids. Has anyone used metal lids for LCs as I have described above and have your lids leaked?

So you screwed the lids on with the rubber seal down, correct?
