Cleaning jars?
    #18769469 - 08/28/13 05:34 PM (10 years, 5 months ago)

How careful should I be when cleaning jars? I just took some reishi spawn and transferred it to mono tubs. Afterwards I took the jars to the sink and cleaned them without a mask and didnt really care

They were clean jars as far as I could tell.....smelled good....any thoughts? How dangerous is this?

Just run them through the dishwasher with all the other dishes.  You are going to use them the next time to sterilize something, right?

I don't think you have to worry much about health hazards.
I just use a bottle brush with dishsoap & water.
The only hazard I'm aware of is broken glass

The only time i worry is when it's really full of mold, then I put on a respirator and step outside.

Well if its bacteria its not a big deal. Or the start of spotty green molds.
I well developed colony of green mold definitely needs quarantine treatment.
The shit releases a full spore cloud

If a jar looks really bad I run it through the PC before I try to clean it.

Right on -- toss the green without opening. I am paranoid about the green stuff. It is SOOOO persistentI  Get it in your environment, and you pay the price for years. I had to spray paint the entire inside of a building to get rid of a spore cloud I released as a rookie.
