Led is the future bro, less heat less watts consumed and more light output, better wavelenghts to feed the plants.

I've seen some good LED grows! It boils down to your operation though. HPS/MH are still wonderful options but for small grows I think LED is where it's at. Less energy use and less heat. My 250w gives off so much fucking heat it pisses me off even with a cool tube. If you have a room go with HPS it will ensure denser buds and more crop.

I always like the winter indoor grows..They are much easier to control your environment. And when it comes to ''fight'' cold, hps is great ally!!
I have some years to grow indoors, and when i was i remember other growers used LEDs ,for veg and mother plants. I never use one for my self ,so what i know is from research on the web.

There are LEDs available that are pretty much as good as MH/HPS, while using less electricity and giving off less heat. However, they are super expensive (several gs).
You could get more detailed answers over at the sister site, growery.org.

I got two led configs, one 200W and one 400W. Both configured with 3W Epistar, Bridgelux and Cree diodes. They work like a dream and plants grow like they were doped. They arent that expensive if you order them from vendors that doesnt target pot growers
Occasionally a diode go black, but they are easy to replace. I ordered directly from china and had them delivered with a heap of spare diodes for repairs. All in all the price per hour of lighting is a lot less than hps or cfl.

Interesting.
I'd like to give LED a try at some point but it's hard to know what's a good deal.

Someone on another site was recommending this make. They have a 30 W model that goes for about $100 and a 90W one for about $250. I'm pretty broke right now but I may try the smaller one eventually.
