ADMIN: i would have posted this in outdoor cultivation but i dont have permission to start new threads there
anywho i planted some puerto ricans outside, st louis region, however i didnt check the weather and its supposed to be almost 100 for the next week or so. what are the chances they will die? i started with two pounds of compost (inoculated back in like march) purchased from a vendor and added hay and cow shit (did not pasteurize) when i put them in the ground. Also should i water them everyday? thank you very much for all suggestions

cubensis is a tropical species, i seen it fuiting in wild up to 35° at day, 100f is just 37°C so i think they wont die.
why you didnt pasteurize? dont be surprised if the shit contams before the micelia could get the job done.
YEs, water everyday would be fine.

There's isn't really much need to pasteurize for outdoor grows, nature tends to take care of it. If it needed to be pasteurized they would have a hell of a time growing wild on their own, yet that's not the case.

You DO NOT NEED to pasteurize an OD grow. Mother nature regulates mold and spores perfectly, but she also likes to keep her slugs and bugs fed.

Ive began noticing tiny fruits appearing the last couple days. I eagerly went to check the patch today to find that a cow stepped on it and killed my shit
i just want to kill those fat bastards... i still have hope for the patch however ill most likely have to start over and choose more wisely next next time i locate the patch.

It's been getting up to the mid 90s here and the substrate I buried out back survived the heat for a week. Watch out for ants though they carried off nearly every last grain from that hole I dug. I bet they were trippin balls.
